Can't help but get stuff done!!

So today we moved into our house. And as much as I told myself I will not do anything to exert myself or tire myself out, it's inevitable!! I by no means didn't lift anything or do the actual pushing, but just the little things like personal items packing, putting things away like dishes, throwing away stuff, driving from truck rental to home, Ofcourse it being 90 degrees here today didn't help.
I am soooooo tired and exhausted. My Low back is killing me
I couldn't even conceive if unpacking anything or opening single a box now so not Gnna Deal with it.
How are you ladies coming along, I just can't sit still knowing there's so much and so little time. Then I pay for it later.

Re: Can't help but get stuff done!!

  • I'm the same way.  I don't know how to just stop and rest, and so I pay for it later.  I don't have too much preparing to do since this is baby #2, but the nesting instinct is still in hyperdrive and I just start randomly organizing or cleaning things.

I have managed to take a few hours each weekend after my toddler goes to bed and watch Dr. Phil episodes on youtube.  I watched so many with my first pregnancy, I was convinced my little one would be born thinking Dr. Phil was daddy.

  • I'm with you! We are renovating and I can't stop helping! I feel so useless and I feel awful for my husband when I'm just on the couch. He did banish me to the couch today, but that didn't last long :) my feet are really swollen now, so I'll be paying for it tonight! Oh well :)
  • Yes my husband forbid me to do anything and I can't Listen. My body can't keep up with all I want or need to do!! I was so tire to unpack put a bed together decided to sleep at MIL house . My feet are swollen as well :(
  • It's ok to do things, just listen to your body and drink plenty of water. I usually find that on the days I do wayyy too much, it takes me about 3 days to recover. Good luck, OP, and just try to get one room done at a time or just one box at a time.

  • I can't sit still. I stay at home all day and have recently started to love cleaning. I take care of our four dogs during the day. I will get back pain some times, but I guess because I stay so active I don't get exhausted easy. My back hurts more from sitting long periods of time!
  • I'm so thankful that we moved just a week after finding out I was pregnant! I can't imagine trying to do it all now, I would be freaking out! Just do what you can, take breaks and stay hydrated!
  • Thanks girls, will do. I exhausted myself so much yesterday, I literally stayed in bed all day and DH went to see a movie and spent a lazy Sunday doing nothing. Do have to stay at my MIL since the new place is all completely in boxes, but I feel much better today.
Love you guys!!! So nice to just vent out day to day pregnancy stuff
  • We just moved this weekend too! I am now laying on the couch trying to keep these swollen feet elevated. I know I did more than I should have in this heat but it had to get done. I can tell when I've really done too much because my lower abdomen will ache and feel so heavy.
  • @blairbecky78 , never again will I move 8 months pregnant again!! My poor DH did so much and kept getting mad when I tried to help. I just can't sit around waiting for it to get done. I wish I could snap my fingers and the house is ready. Today went and bought a washer and dryer! And in this heat that felt like a lot also...
  • Ugh, I'm not even moving into my new house for another 2 weeks. I could just cry from the desire to do something to get ready. I so badly want to get the baby's room and DS's room all ready for them!
  • @satori15 I totally understand. Just finished moving this weekend and now I don't even to look at it or do anything I'm so tired. Remember to take it easy, I over did it and now I'm paying for it.
  • My co-worker and I were pregnant together the first time (4 weeks apart). She moved at 7mo pregnant and I thought she was crazy! Then I moved with a walking 11mo old and she thought I was crazy! I'm not sure which would be harder. On one hand, you tire easily when pregnant, but you can go at your own pace and actually have time to rest. Then on the other hand, I wasn't pregnant and had my energy back, but I never could rest!

Either way, moving is hard, but you'll get it done!

  • This is happening to me right now! My husband is deployed and I just started emptying out of the room for the nursery this past weekend. I know I really shouldn't be lifting heavy things and I guess I shouldn't be painting either, but its just my mom and I doing it so I would feel terrible not helping her more. So fast forward to today, when I have to call out of work because I am just exhausted! Like can barely breathe exhausted...I need to take more breaks
  • Yup. I hear ya. I just moved last week and I told my husband I'd do the packing and unpacking if he did the actual moving... bad idea. I over do everything to begin with so basically every single day, weekday or weekend, I've been lifting boxes, climbing on and off chairs taking down pictures than rehanging them. Moving everything I can up and down 3 flights of stairs, sanding and painting furniture, organizing everything, doing all the shopping and all this on TOP of keeping it all clean and cooking. Baby is NOT happy with me. My husband thinks I'm overreacting when I feel like I can't stand or walk or function... I wish men knew what we went through, lol. But yeah, I'm the same way, I can't stop 'til it's all done, so looking at another couple weeks of this insanity. I just can't come home at the end of the day and feel relaxed if there's so much left to do!
  • We have so much to do. Most of it is just organizing, but the thought of it all makes me want to curl up on the floor and cry. We had our shower yesterday and I now have stuff all over the place. :((
