36weeks tomorrow.. when does baby's head engage?

Ive understood that babys head should be engaged by now... i keep getting pelvic pain on my left and lower back pain... could this be a sign of baby starting to engage? Hes already dropped as i was carrying quite high and now im carrying low down. But midwife said on thursday that babys head isnt quite there yet.. i hope this doesnt give him chance to turn breech again..

    I will be 40 weeks on Tuesday and my doctor told me yesterday that his head still feels quite high. It's totally normal and everyone is different. I know some people whose baby didn't drop until their water broke. And I hear STM's drop even less early on.

    I'm a FTM, but I've heard that it's different for each pregnancy. My baby girl has been head down and engaged for a few weeks now, but I know people that the head didn't fully engage until right before going into labor.

    My Dr said it never happens for some women. People just like to talk about it.

    You could be well into labour before baby's head engages. It's just one of those things that is different for each person and each pregnancy.

    I personally don't think I dropped with any of my pregnancies and as of yesterday this baby is still high at 39 weeks.

    I'm 39 weeks and baby isn't engaged. Low, but not engaged. Honestly, I'm hoping baby doesn't engage cause I am scheduled for a c-section Friday at 39+6, and I'd just assume not deal with that. :)

    Your baby could flip in a matter of seconds today tomorrow or weeks from now. I wouldn't worry too much.

    I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and my LO dropped Saturday night. My doctor told me when I asked when it's normal for babies to drop she said they can and sometimes they wont. Also if she drops she could go back up so they don't really take it as a serious sign.

    39+1 FTM and I have carried high and compact my whole pregnancy. LO dropped and turnee head down over a month ago. Dr could feel head and stated I'm partially engaged... she's there but not all the way..she's stubborn like her mom ;)
