FTM baby has phlegm ?

My baby will be 4 weeks old Friday , and I have notice that he has phlegm. At first I though it was buggers but that's not it. I'm a bit worried to lay him down because I've read baby's can choke from it. He has an appt with his Dr Friday morning! Is this something common ? What can I do meanwhile Friday comes?

  • Have you tried sucking it out with that nose sucker thing? He'll probably hate it but that's all I would think to do. I'd call my ped. and ask for suggestions too.

  • Our lo had that to Dr told us to get little remedies nasal spray and aspirator
  • How was your LO born? We have the same issue at a little over 2 weeks. My DD was born via c-section and I was told to expect extra mucus for a few weeks. When DD spits up, it's mostly mucus, very little breast milk thankfully.

He was born via c section also! I haven't notice him spitting up mucus, but he does spit up breastmilk here and there
  • Our pediatrician recommended using saline drops a couple times a day as well as use the nasal aspiratior to draw out the mucus. I've been doing both, but I still notice quite a bit of mucus, especially during the night. I'm hoping that it gets better, but if it doesn't I'll make an appt with the Ped.
