3rd Trimester

FTM not what I expected

Im a FTM and 32 weeks. I'm 4'10 and I was heavy even before pregnancy (I've gained 20 lbs so far) and sometimes I feel like this belly is excruciatingly heavy!
I thought it would be easier lol I'm only 32 weeks and I can barely bend over, cleaning the house is 10x harder than it used to be, my legs go numb just walking around doing the grocery shopping and I constantly feel like I need a nap!
How is everyone else feeling at this point? Am I being whiny? Or are you all exhausted too?

Re: FTM not what I expected

  • I'm 5'5 but with my last pregnancy I gained 59 lbs. my son was born weighing 9 lbs 7 oz... I gained about 15-20 lbs this time around so far... He's at 37/38 weeks with my first.

  • I feel your pain! I'm 5'0 and I've gained about 20-23 so far! This belly is weighing me down! The ankle swelling is the worst!

5'5' gained about 25lbs at 33wks. And I agree! Im aware that I always sound Whiney (everything hurts ) but it is sooo heavy. Heavy to carry, heavy in my lungs, everything. I agree.
  • I'm 5'4'' 31/32 weeks and have gained about 26 lbs so far. I feel huge and can't believe I have 2 more months to get bigger. I've had back and pelvic pain and lately rib pain and shortness of breath making it hard to keep exercising. On the bright side no swelling at all though everyone says it's coming soon.
  • I'm 5'10", have only gained about 15 lbs (I'm 29 weeks), and was overweight to begin with.  I feel like walking around for even a half-hour is tough, because this guy is weighing me down.  Pelvic pain is definitely a factor, and my belly feels so heavy at night when I'm trying to sleep, no matter how many pillows I prop it on.
  • 5'4"...36 weeks...and 35 lbs packed onto my frame. Mostly in the belly, although my butt is a big wider than before (pelvic expansion I suppose).

While my doctors have not told me it's too much weight, I'm incredibly uncomfortable. I am lucky in that swelling is incredibly minimal for me, just enough I cannot get my wedding ring on. My hips/pelvis haven't been too bad (before pregnancy I had SI joint issues), and knock on wood I haven't had any back issues (even with the DD's the girls have swelled to).

But, wow does the extra weight affect everything. Getting in and out of the car is the worst for me. And, taking a walk is a joke. I end up sounding like a 2 pack a day smoker just going up and down the 1 flight of stairs to the basement.

I've been weeding my flower beds and gardens lately, in an attempt to keep moving and not just slug around the house. I'm sure the neighbors are getting some kicks out of that. haha
  • I'm 5' 0" and at 35 weeks have gained a whopping 45 pounds so far! I am petite and was an average weight when I became pregnant.

I am miserable as far as how heavy I feel! I get winded just going up and down the stairs at this point and feel like I can't catch my breath since she is all up in my lungs....

I just keep telling myself it's almost over and my LO will be here before I know it!
  • I am 5'6" and started out at 108lbs. when we first found out I was pregnant (about 6 weeks preg). By about 32-33 weeks I had gained about 35lbs, and now at 39 weeks I have gained 44lbs. Never in a million years did I think I would gain that much, but it is what it is. I actually feel pretty good now though between that 25-32 week mark I was super tired and having trouble getting around. Hang in there gals, we can all do this!
  • I'm 5'2" pregnant with twins. I'm 30 weeks and have gained 25lbs so far. Doesn't help that I'm 39! I can't barely breathe, body is so sore and legs and back ache constantly! These little ones are so worth it but I can't wait for them to be here!
  • I'm 5'4" and have gained 28lb at 36 weeks. Haven't gained a pound since week 32. I still get hungry but I'm instantly full so not eating much. Still working full-time as a night shift nurse and on my feet a lot. Feeling large and exhausted right now.
  • I'm 5'8'' and gained about 20lbs and I feel like it's all in my belly! Definitely harder to do everyday chores...
