Daily Symptoms, Questions and Concerns - Aug. 2

Here is the thread to post any weird feelings or symptoms, ask symptoms related questions, or share concerns about your pregnancy. Many of us experience similar symptoms and this thread helps us to keep each other informed and calm.

Hey ladies, how are you doing?

My headaches continue. Tylenol or not, and this has made me very cranky and irritable. I'm staying in bed for a while.

Re: Daily Symptoms, Questions and Concerns - Aug. 2

  • Happy Sunday everyone! 18w1d today :) I am really wanting to feel the LO! I know it can be anytime between 16 and 24 weeks but I feel like its the next big milestone and I just can't wait! Symptoms: The usual, not sleeping/tossing and turning due to leg/hip issues, I'm pretty used to it now so I just run through multiple steps and try to get back to sleep.

I have had massive heartburn since 10pm last night. I have taken a zantac, used tums, tried milk and I slept sleeping propped all the way up. I don't want to take too much medication. Any ideas on relieving my heartburn?
  • Woke up and started dry heaving. At a family reunion so I am in a hotel room. Had breakfast but still super nauseous so took a zofran. I just want to feel better so badly. I can't enjoy life.
  • @TinkMonroe you have tried all my suggestions. Tums usually works for me, I get heartburn like every day!

  • Woke up with the usual massive headache. Figured it was due to dehydration so I drank a glass of water and some V8. Still didn't help so I took a Tylenol and quickly threw everything up. Now my last resort is drinking a Pepsi and taking Tylenol again. The caffeine is the only thing that helps but I HATE Pepsi! I also called my Mommy to come over a day early to help take care of DD because I hate life and my DH is out of state. I feel like a super grown up today...not. 16weeks4days, last pregnancy I was done with this at 12 weeks, boo!

@ChristinaAnneW Yes!!! Me too! But, I just got to 16 weeks so the wait might be a bit longer for me...
  • I woke up with stomach cramps but have since pooped twice, so guessing that was the cause. No headache today, not feeling too nauseous... So possibly a good day for me! I also got a body pillow online so am excited for that to come, I'm usually a stomach sleeper so sleeping in my side sucks.
  • My husband drank at the wedding we attended last night but somehow I'm the one with the hangover and also had a massive Charlie horse this morning!! Ouch!
Going to eat McDs and chug some water.
And I'm so sorry you ladies are still getting sick. Let's hope you are all getting to the end of that phase.
  • I'm 17w2d and the past two or three days I've noticed this tightening feeling across my lower abdomen randomly a few times during the day. When I touch my belly my uterus feels like a rock!!  Then it goes away within a couple of minutes.  I'm wondering if I'm feeling Braxton Hicks, but I read you don't usually notice them until around 20 weeks so it seems a little early.

I didn't have them until later with my last pregnancy, but it sounds like that is what they are. It's just tight but no pain?
  • @TinkMonroe You have already done most of the things that I would do. Additionally, maybe try heartburn prevention? Like, not eating close to bedtime, and avoiding acidic foods like, citrus fruits and juices, carbonated beverages, coffee, chocolate, tomato sauce, and, spicy foods. Hope you feel better soon!

  • @alandaim Just tightness. I would say it's uncomfortable, but not painful.

I also have this (17w3d), just this weird tight feeling once in a while.

Yes, the real ones are tight but obviously progressively start to hurt more. Looks like your body is getting some early practice in.
  • @alandaim Thanks for the input! :)
  • 18w1d and threw up so bad last night! Woke up this morning still feeling nauseous. Why is it that I have trouble eating healthy oatmeal, but greasy bacon and homefries goes down just fine??
  • Keep waking up with a nasty taste in my mouth due to the extra saliva during the night.. It's so gross.
Hips hurt pretty bad today, I guess it's time to buy a pillow for support.
Also as of last night, sleeping on my stomach is a no go. :(
  • Still getting mild-severe abdominal cramps! Mild almost daily, severe every other day. Yesterday's hurt so bad I almost went to the ER; I thought I must be miscarrying. But it's been about 3 weeks and no other symptoms and the docs can find nothing wrong. Still feeling LO move throughout the day. Anyone heard of this kind of pain? It's not round ligament pain or intestinal pain, those are easily distinguishable.
  • Stopping by to give an update, yesterday was feeling concerned and uneasy that something was wrong but today baby girl has been very active, starting to think I have a soccer player in there. Thank you all for being so encouraging!

Tummy hurts so bad today:( no spotting. It may be constipation. I know everyone says 1st trimester is tougher with symptoms, but I'm 15 weeks and I've felt worse this past week than ever. I know everyone is different, but I'm curious if other people have experienced a breezy 1st trimester and more symptoms in the 2nd. Thx!
  • I sure did, babywells2016... I had mild MS that stopped completely at week 10, and then no symptoms at all for about five weeks and then started the cramping... no spotting here either. Does yours feel like menstrual cramps? I was bent over in pain yesterday. I found that a tylenol, the tub and a couple glasses of water did wonders! Mine are always gone by mid-afternoon. I'm scared the rest of the pregnancy is going to be plagued by these debilitating cramps!! What kind of pain are you having?
  • @babywells2016 I had a pretty easy first trimester with only exhaustion and food aversions.  This second trimester has been rough.  I've been nauseous, have had bad hip pain, migraines, cramps, and just overall feeling pretty bad.  I thought I was in the clear...apparently I am not.
  • It doesn't feel like menstrual cramps. It's more of a tightness feeling across my whole abdomen and at times, into my back. Mine has stuck around for two days, and honestly, I don't have much of an appetite either. My fatigue is at an all time high. I exercised twice last week, and my goal is at least 4 times this week. I'm hoping it helps. Tons of water too! I hope yours goes away knottie1428945922! Keep us posted!!
  • I'm finally done throwing up! Haven't thrown up in a few weeks actually. 14w 3d. Boobs are finally not sore anymore, my nipples are just super sensitive. Definitely feel my body stretching though, everything in the lower abdomen is tight and I can feel it when I twist my torso or stretch out. Still have the constipation and I'm pretty sure it's getting worse every day. Been trying Colace like many here have suggested but nothing is helping at all. Not as exhausted all the time either! All in all I'm finally enjoying this.
  • I just pooped out Friday's dinner. Maybe in a few days tonight's dinner will finally follow...

  • 18+1 and lots of pains today. So many sharp pains down there and around my uterus. I'm assuming it's round ligament or gas, but it was constant for a few hours and very worrisome. But other than that everything seems ok
  • Overall, I feel better in the second trimester (17w) although I still have that 'gross' (nausea meets indigestion?!) feeling some of the time...but thankfully it's not AS gross as it used to be :). Hey just wanted to share that I reckon taking a probiotic capsule each day seems to be really helping me avoid constipation. Maybe try taking one daily if this is a problem for you? Also, I've recently accepted that I'll never feel like my pre-pregnancy self while pregnant! There will always be some unpleasant symptom/s happening! Anyway, hope everyone feels a bit better soon.
