Restless sleeper...

Anyone else have a LO that sleeps very restlessly?? My daughter seems to fidget and kick and moan and grunt all night long! (Okay, that's an exaggeration)

I'm thinking Miss Thing will be sleeping in her own room way before I thought I would be moving her! This momma can't sleep with all the noise!

Re: Restless sleeper...

  • DS does this but usually only within the hour before he wakes up to feed. It's my cue that he's going to want to eat soon. Though it's quite frustrating that then I'm up for an hour before I need to be. I'm also a very light sleeper so any little noise he makes wakes me up, so I'm probably just sensitive to his tossing and turning. I agree though, I've already thought about the possibility of moving him to his crib in his room and I don't want to do that until he's 6 months. We will see how long I last.

  • My guy is that way all night long. We moved him because of it and I found that we all seemed much more rested. He is right across the hall so we just leave both doors open and then don't use the monitor. I heard too much with it on. I still hear a lot with him being so close. Most people freak out when I tell them we don't use the monitor but for me it was just like having him in my room because I could hear everything. With him across the hall I can hear him when he starts to grunt and chatter as he wakes up. Oh and I can definitely hear him when he crys.

@chanbersbaby2015 my LO does this too and I've started dream feeding her which means when she starts to fidget I try to offer paci and if she starts fidgeting with 10 minutes I just gently pick her up and put her on my boob to feed. It has allowed her to sleep longer because she never fully wakes up. She will peep her eyes open at the beginning of the feed but then is gone with 30 seconds. She feeds for her regular amount of time to and then I can get back to sleep. Last night she went down at 10 pm and started fidgeting at 2 and I dream fed and she didn't wake up again until 8 am. Whoop I got almost 10 hours of sleep. Yay!!
  • @lestes1121 - 10 hours is amazing!!!!!! Do you change LO's diaper too? I'm so afraid DS will leak if I don't change him during that middle of the night feed. And in order to change him I have to take off his swaddle me. As soon as that Velcro goes he wakes up.

You know what I want to start a discussion on this..

And regarding post my daughter has started fidgeting soooo much. We co sleep or she sleeps on her cradle swing but now she doesn't seem to enjoy either. I want to put her in her crib in her own room but she just seems to know when she's there no matter how asleep she is

  • We move the baby to his own room at five weeks because he was so loud grunting in his sleep. It's been such a blessing
  • @chambersbaby2015. I will squeeze to see how full it is but she has gotten where she doesn't tee tee that much at night but the first three hours of her being awake in the morning she soaks 3-4 diapers. I coat her down in booty cream before we go down for the night. Sometimes she has a wet diaper and other nights she doesn't. She's in a growth spurt right now so she woke up every 3 hours on the dot to feed last night and is eating every 2 hours today. But hopefully this spurt will blow over soon.
  • Thanks @lestes1121. My LO definitely still has wet diapers in the night so I think I would feel guilty not changing him. And to be honest most of them have poop too. It's rare my DS gives me a diaper without poop in it!!
  • My son does the same thing! He grunts and moans and when he isn't doing that he is snoring!!! Very loud sleeper so I don't get a good night sleep. I have no option to put him in his own room right now at night because we only have a window air conditioner in our bedroom so it would be too hot for him to sleep in his own room.
