Anyone doing fun ikea hack projects for the nursery? I got sucked into the vortex of hack pics on Pinterest and there are some great ideas! Today the hubby and I hacked a dresser, to see if we could. It came out pretty dang good, if I do say so myself! We are going for a rustic modern nursery for our twin boys.

Re: Ikea Hacks
We ended up getting a regular book shelf as well because I am a bibliophile with a serious book addiction and children's books are my drug of choice lately.
That is also why we ended up getting a regular bookshelf. Even my not-yet-2-yr-old can recognize her favorite books by the spine and the not-yet-4-yr-old is getting into chapter books. We still like the look of having some of our favorite picture books front-facing on the wall shelves though.
I've even seen people decorate their nurseries with a sort of storybook theme or classic books theme and combine their favorite books with a stuffed animal on a picture shelf - like a Winnie the Pooh book and plush or Dr. Seuss book and Cat in the Hat plush.
I have one of those big wardrobes from IKEA. I need to hack it into a one big dresser for DS's room. I'd have to show pics to show what I'm doing. It's hard to explain.
Ours looks darker but I took the photo at sunset so the shadows make it look darker then it is
Next up we're going to try making an ikea coffee table into a barn reclaimed wood coffee table. We are going to need all the luck we can get. Haha!
This was way to expensive so I found a solid wood dresser used on Craigslist. Hubby fixed it up and I painted. I love how it turned out. This was about a 2 hour job and we spent less than $100 including paint and supplies.
