Prego Shopping... It sucks!

I just spent an hour trying on shoes. A whole hour to find one pair that would fit!! My flip flops had gotten too tight and the bottoms of my feet would sweat like crazy in them. So I figured maybe a pair of flats would be better. This pair's too tight, this pair is too big. The left one fits but the right one doesn't. None of these come in wide. These are comfy but they're ugly. These rub on my toes too much. These are sliding off when I try to walk. It was ridiculous! My right foot is literally a half size bigger than my left due to swelling. I was tempted to do a switch but most of the shoes had that friggin elastic band holding them together. I finally found a pair that are alright. They're not perfect, but they should do me for the next couple weeks til the swelling goes down.

So anyways after my long rant, I was thinking: somebody should open a shoe store for pregnant women. All the shoes would be mix and match in sizes. If you need a regular in one and a wide in the other, no problem. If you need a 7.5 in one and an 8 in the other, alright. Wouldn't that be awesome?? If only!
(This could also work for people who regularly have size troubles as well).
Maybe we should start a petition or something. Lol!
Anyway, that's my pregnancy complaint for the day. :)

  • I feel ya on this! I got some Sanuk flip flops a few weeks ago and it was the best purchase I've made so far. They are SUPER comfortable. I did have to buy a size and a half larger though to make up for when my feet swell. I'm normally a 7.5 and I got a size NINE! They're also ugly and brown and don't really match anything but I could care less! These babies feel like I'm waking on clouds and that's all I care about right now!

  • i am not buying any shoes right now with these swollen feet.. I'm always barefoot at home! I didn't realize how bad it would be but this heat is not helping my feet :( thank god only one week to go!
  • I'm so sorry!!! I had to switch to Clark flip flops in my second trimester because I was already swollen! They have Velcro so you can adjust them as needed and especially good for one foot being a bit puffer than the other! I miss all my shoes but THANK GOODNESS for clarks!!
  • Bedroom slippers?

  • What a great idea!! I've been living in flip flops all summer. I can't wear anything else, and even shopping for comfortable flip flops was miserable!
  • I got myself a pair of birkenstocks for my birthday in may. They may be pricy, but they are adjustable and have saved me many a day. Nor very stylish, DH calls them my hippy shoes, but they work. I wear size 11 shoes to begin with so my selection is pretty slim on a good day let alone while pregnant. I was afraid I'd have to go into drag queen shoes, but so far so good.
  • I have been wearing nothing but my Crocs flipflops since May.
  • Ugh I'm 38 weeks and decided to go shopping a few days ago to find a dress for maternity pictures. I walked around the mall to all the stores that weren't for pregnant women, tried on a few things... Super depressing. You can only try on so many LG or extra LG dresses until you give up lol. Then I decided to go to a store that was actually made for pregnant women and everything was extremely overpriced.. I bought a dress for $75 bucks, did the pictures the next morning, and then took it back lol... Pregnant shopping sucks! I'll stick to the few things I have that fit for the next couple
  • Ahh yes. Here I am browsing the new Anthropologie catalog and all I can think about is how nice it will be to be cute and stylish again! I've completely lost myself. Ugh. Can't wait to be able to shop in the cute stores again!
  • Old navy flips are my shoe of choice
