    It's safest to have a firm mattress with a fitted sheet, and that is all. That's what we did with dd and will do with baby 2. We also use a sleep sack in place of blankets.

    We loved our sleep sacks too :)

    I've seen the mesh bumpers with fabric or ribbon sewn to the top and bottom satin border if you still want to add some color.

    Another option ladies is to get a crib rail cover. You don't lose the cuteness of the set but your newborn isn't going to touch it either. :)

    No bumpers here either. We didn't buy or have any need for the mesh ones either with DS

    Cute! That would actually be nice now that DD is crewing on the rail. Fortunately we haven't had any issues with her limbs sticking out
