Lovenox Ladies

So I know there is another thread on here for those with MTHFR, however, many can still be on Lovenox without that gene, so anyone else on here a Lovenox lady? I've been on Coumadin since I was 21 when they found my 1st blood clot, and then switched to Lovenox about 2.5years ago when we started TTC. My doctor says as my pregnancy progresses they would probably switch to Heparin and I could still have a normal delivery and epidural if I wanted. Anyone been through pregnancy and delivery who was on Lovenox before?

Re: Lovenox Ladies

  • I'm due in October, but I came across this post and wanted to reply. I have APS, which we found during my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy I had a placental abruption at 33 weeks, so with my second I saw a perinatologist at 23 weeks and he diagnosed me and I began Lovenox. I switched to twice a day heparin at 37 weeks, and that night my daughter was born. I had just had a heparin shot less than 7 hours before she was born, and I had her naturally and with no issues at all. It went completely fine, and the Lovenox had eliminated her iuGr ghat they found at the 23 week appointment. Now I'm expecting my 3rd in October, I'm 27 weeks and have been on Lovenox since 8 weeks. I also have to continue them for 6 weeks postpartum. Hope this helps!

  • Oh, and I should add that I also take "baby aspirin" (83 mg) daily in addition to Lovenox.
  • I will be on it starting 8-10 thanks to Factor V. I found out about it early, before we conceived, and my doctor told me regardless of the fact that I've never had an issue with blood clots, I'll be on it until 37 weeks and switch over before the birth, easier to reverse if need be than the lovenox. Little worried to be on it, have read posts about it being bad for baby, but doctor says its not true. I am also on a low dose aspirin until my appointment on the 10th.
  • I was on it for my last pregnancy and will find out on Wed., when I meet with the perinatologist, if I have to be on it for this pregnancy also.

  • I'm on it due to DVT that I had in 2013. It's a pain in the butt but, it's worth it thinking about the end result.
