CD11 monitoring

I went in for my ultrasound and blood work this morning. This is CD 11 of my letrozole and gonal f cycle. My follicles are measuring 10-11mm and I haven't recruited a main follicle yet. My lining was 4.71mm but the doctor said she wasn't concerned since my follicles just aren't ready yet. Do you thinks it's concerning that it's already CD11 and I haven't recruited a main follicle yet and they aren't bigger than they are right now? Also, is 4.71mm lining really thin for where my follicles are right now? I'm disappointed

Re: CD11 monitoring

  • Sometimes it takes longer for the follicles to grow. My shortest was 10 days and my longest was 14. It's different every time. If your doctor didn't seem concerned then you shouldn't worry. Good luck!!

  • I can't really answer your question but just wanted to let you know that I just finished a cycle with letrozole and gonal F.  My follicles were bigger by then but I really only had 1 lead follicle and a few smaller ones.  My lining was about 5mm on CD 10 I think which my RE didn't love so she prescribed me estrogen pills to take vaginally that worked wonders.  Literally I took them twice a day (Still am actually until I find out if I am or am not pregnant) and it went from 5.3mm, to 6 the next day to over 7.5 the next day..Maybe ask about something like that to help the lining. but again your DR does this stuff all the time so they should know what they are doing and if they aren't overly concerned I wouldn't be either. good luck

Thanks for your responses ladies!  The nurse called a little while ago and said that I need to take 75iu of Gonal F for the next three nights straight. I had been taking 50iu every other night.  She thinks that my follicles should be ready by Monday. I hope she's right.

On another note, my husband's SA came back awesome! The nurse told him that most counts come back between 20 and 100 million. His came back at 150 million, so we are really happy about that.
  • That's great!! Fx for you!!

  • @jlynn330 : seems like you may be ovulating a little later, but considering the size of your follies, that seems fine. On my last medicated cycle, I had 3 follies (19, 18, 18) on day 10 and my lining was 5.9mm. I went the following day, follies were a little bigger, and lining was 6.9mm. Got my LH surge on CD12, with follies at 21,20,20 and lining at 7.4mm. That's still technically too thin (turns out there was an issue with the shape of my uterus, kind of like an elastic of muscle inside, preventing it from growing properly), but some people do get pregnant with a lining that thin. It'll grow when your follies are ready ;)

I'm starting my first IUI cycle with Letrozole and Follistim (75IU per day for 5-7 days) and curious about how it's going to impact my follies. Let me know how it goes for you! Hopefully the increased dose will do the trick for you!
