Bad taste in mouth

I am 8.5 weeks and feeling okay, just tired a lot. BUT I always have an awful taste in my mouth. I brush my teeth constantly, chew gum and drink water…but it actually wakes me up at night.  Anyone else struggle with this or have some suggestions???

The struggle is real! I have it 24/7, too. Makes nausea/smells worse. Bleh, yuck.

  • I feel your pain bad taste in my mouth right now
  • My bad taste is a reaction to sugar/starchy foods.
  • It helps if you get a tongue scraper. Seriously it's a thing. Silly as it sounds you stick it as far back as you can on your tongue and scrape forward. It really does help. Some funky stuff collects on your tongue and that's the best solution I've found. Even better if immediately followed by gargling some kinda mouth rinse (listerine). Good luck to ya'll. :)
  • Yes morning sickness does cause that horrible taste. I still get it now and again but it is very mild... Not a fan... 12 weeks 1 day today so it has really decreased. Hang in there!
  • Ugh. I have it too & it's awful!! I am 12 w1 day, and still not gone. Here's to hoping it goes away soon!!!
  • Yes, I have it too! It just started! Too much dairy or startch causes it. Fruit helps.
  • I have it too. I can't eat anything. It hurts my stomach to eat anything too.
  • I was put on Flagyl and one of the side effects is a sharp, metallic taste in the mouth. I chew peppermint gum all day long to hide it.

  • I get it with everything I eat. I attribute it to morning sickness and acid in my stomach. This is my 3rd pregnancy and it had gone away a little into the 2nd trimester. I'm 13 weeks 2 days. Can't wait for it to be over and I can eat other foods.
