So I have tried things to bring on labor I've been having contractions I am 37 weeks and 4 days I am 3-4 cm dilated she stripped my membranes I've had sex I have stimulated my nipples tonight I'm eating spicy food surely to god I have to almost done with this ....how long can you walk around that dilated before labor
You can walk around dilated for several weeks and still go way pay your due date. Why are you in such a hurry to get your baby out? You do realize you're not even full term yet? Baby isn't going to come out until he/she is ready. I'm honestly shocked your dr stripped your membranes this early. That sounds worrisome to me that a dr would do that, that early.

Why in the hell are you trying to induce labor when you aren't even full-term yet? Your unborn baby is still developing and needs to cook as long as possible. For the love of your baby, STOP doing what you are doing and let labor happen on its own.
What is with the attacks I am full term ultrasound says I'm measuring 6 days bigger she is healthy and fully developed when she measures my belly i measuring at 39 weeks I have been having contractions for 2 weeks and she did the membrane thing because I was already so dilated I was just asking how long would labor start with being that much dilated god stop being so hateful

No one is being hateful but I'm just letting you know that despite how you are measuring, you are only 37 weeks, which is NOT full-term. 39 weeks is now considered full-term. Baby will come when BABY is ready, not you.
No one is being hateful but I do get annoyed when women are trying to get their babies out before they are ready. It can be potentially harmful to your child.
It's just a few more weeks. I'm sure you can deal.
Unless you want to give birth to a technically premature baby who may possibly have complications, I would stop trying to induce labor. Your doctor is a complete moron for letting you do all this. Regardless of how big your baby is measuring, you're still only 37 weeks. Which I'll say again, is NOT full term. I understand wanting to have your baby already but trying to induce labor before baby is ready is just selfish on your part. You're potentially putting your baby at risk.
It wouldn't be a big deal if she wasn't already trying to come out and like I said I just had that one question thanks for nothing
If she was "trying to come out" you'd be in labor. Dilation mean absolutely nothing when it comes to how soon you'll naturally go into labor. It's completely normal for a woman to be dilated for weeks and not go into labor. You can't come to a forum like this with a situation like yours an expect someone not to say anything. That's like handing a toddler a pair of scissors to run around with and expecting no one to be concerned.
Thanks you have truly been so helpful to me I'm so glad we have people like you on here to set terrible people like straight
Ok now you're being ridiculous and dramatic. No one said anything about being a terrible person. We are simply saying that if your baby was ready to come, you would be in labor. Being dilated means nothing until your body is laboring and a doctor has confirmed baby is coming.
Like PP has said, women have been dilated for weeks before going into labor, lost their mucus plugs, had their membranes stripped, etc. with no sign of baby coming.

Lol don't be so sensitive. You clearly didn't know better so everyone who responded to your post, myself included, was just trying to educate you since your doctor is obviously isn't doing their job very well. No one said you were terrible. So I'm not sure where that came from.
I'm not being sensitive I'm being 9 months pregnant and you can "educate" without degrading my doctor or me like I said before I had one freaking question you have all answered it thank you
Classychik85, don't let MyCousinVinny rile you up. After she posted a crappy comment on one of my comments, i checked her profile and see she harasses everyone. seems like a real peach.

Who, exactly, am I harassing? Is there a rule that states I have to post on one board only?
My posts are honest and blunt, not made in attempts to 'rile' anyone up.
I did not call you a bitch...now who is being sensitive
You did call her a bitch... So I'm confused at why you did then said you didn't...
Anywho moving on. I'm 1 cm dilated and I'm only 29 weeks. My doctor told me I could be dilated throughout most of my pregnancy and still go to full term. Also unless you have health problems or the baby is considered big there's no real reason to try and induce labor at 37 weeks, membrane stripping only works when baby is ready to come naturally.

Alrighty then. Looks like the only person being rude here is you. You can't just come into a public forum like this and dictate how people should answer. You don't like he responses you're getting, then leave.
At the end of the day, your doctor is giving you poor advice. This isn't a matter of opinion. A baby is not considered full term at 37 weeks. That is a fact, not an opinion. And the fact that your doctor is encouraging you to induce labor before your baby is ready, a very bad call on your doctors part. Unless there is a medical concern for you or the baby, there is absolutely no reason why you should be trying to induce labor at only 37 weeks pregnant.
There's no reason for you to get so defensive. People are just trying to help you by shedding light on a problem you didn't know you had.
I was 4cm dilated, 70% effaced and contracting regularly at 37 weeks with #3, that being said she was born 1 day before her due date and membrane stripping and all the natural things I did at home (nipple stim, walking, sex, etc) did nothing. Honestly, baby comes when baby is ready. Hang in there- you won't be pregnant forever. Try and stay busy to keep your mind off things!
My friend went into labor naturally at 37.5 weeks. She was unable to breastfeed because the baby hadn't cooked long enough to acquire the proper latching skills.
Another friend who was induced for medical reasons at 37 weeks was also unable to breastfeed. Both of them pump and bottle feed instead which is a huge pain in the ass.
So yes OP technically 37 weeks is term. But that doesn't mean that baby is fully developed. I know people who have walked around at 3cm dilated for several weeks before going into labor. I was still fully closed at my appointment 2 days before I went into labor. There is no way to predict when labor will start no matter what your stats are. Sorry. But I'd advise not rushing it, for your baby's sake.
If you want advice or opinions, you should come to a forum and ask members to answer your questions. If you want information go to Google or do some other non-interactive research such as reading a book. This should not be a difficult concept.
If there's something strange underneath the hood. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. If there's something weird and it don't look good. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. Immediately. If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor. It's for your health and your child's.
For the love of God ... Let your baby continue to develop.
Secondly, to answer your "question" ... You will go into labor when your BABY is ready. There is not one person, let alone on this forum, that can tell you when you will go into labor.

Calling someone a b*tch however IS a violation of the TOU and as such the only person who should be reported here is YOU!
