High-Risk Pregnancy

Is this miscarriage again??

Hello.

I am considered high risk because I had a kidney transplant 3 years ago and there is a risk of pre-eclampsia later in pregnancy.

I am 31. I had a miscarriage for my first pregnancy in February. It was a terrible experience. Ultrasound at 6 weeks, heard heart beat, etc. At week 12 I started spotting. Then on 13 weeks to the day, ended up in the ER with hemorrhaging.

Fast forward to now! I am 7 weeks today. Woke up with pink mucus-y blood when I wipe. I panicked and called my HR OB and they had me come in for an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed a 5 1/2 week pregnancy. I have another appointment next week. They basically said they are hoping the spotting is nothing and maybe I ovulated late. I'm worried the baby stopped growing at 5 1/2 weeks and I'm going to miscarry soon.

I'm so upset and can't seem to stay positive.

Re: Is this miscarriage again??

  • It could be implantation bleeding, when I had a miscarriage the blood started out brown. Praying either way, I'm sorry that's happening to you!

  • I had unexplained bleeding with my 1st at 5 weeks then at 9 weeks and then again at 25 weeks, never found out why but they watched me closely. With my 2nd I had bleeding around 5-6 weeks as well and they put me on progesterone. Sometimes you have bleeding and you just dont know why. I never had cramps or passed clots with them but it was bright red and did last a few days with my 1st. I had a mc in June and that was very different, very strong cramps and big clots. I'm pregnant again and might be having another mc. Good luck and I hope its nothing!
  • Thank you and I hope you're NR having another mc yourself.

I hate waiting around for if. I'm on day 3 of bleeding and it's gone from light pink to very dark brown. :-(
  • If it makes you feel any better, when I had my loss it went the opposite direction. It started out brown and got more fresh and heavier. Brown blood is old blood, so it could just be the pink spotting you saw finishing out. Did you call your doctor?
  • I've had two mc. Both times it started out light and within hrs became heavy bleeding/clotting. My sister had spotting throughout her pregnancy and even passed a couple small clots. She went on to deliver a beautiful full-term baby.
