I've heard some REs do two IUIs but I don't know if it works any better.thestacyreid said:I finished my 2nd IUI (1st time to try but 2nd day to do IUI). Any success from doing it 2 days in a row? I asked how many mature follies I had and RE said it was hard to tell. Is that strange? RE said maybe 2-3, but wouldn't really know until later.

Yes, it is weird that he couldn't tell how many follies. He also should have done blood work that would indicate how many follies are mature.
Because you need more than the follicle to be present, you also need enough estrogen for each follicle to ovulate.caseyw8784 said:

@TheBorg7of9 - Hi. Honest question. (I've no experience with fertility treatments and only know the basics/what I've read on here.) Why would the doctor do bloodwork to indicate how many follicles are mature? Hormone/chemical levels? I would've assumed that actually seeing the follicles with an ultrasound would be more accurate?
Ok, that makes sense and what I figured. Thanks!TheBorg7of9 said:

Well if she saw those three a couple days before your IUI, maybe the rest were too small to get big enough by IUI day?thestacyreid said:The nurse did say on ultrasound, day before I did IUI, that I had at least 3 at 20mm. For some reason I couldn't get an answer on day of IUI.
