Re: Weekly Checkin - July 29

  • 1. Carrie from FL

    2. TTC #1 since January (4th post-d&e cycle)

    3. Charting/temping, opks

    4. 5dpo, not anxious to test this month. I think I might wait for AF. I'm trying not to ride the hope/disappointment roller coaster this time.

    5. How do you feel about this cycle? Pregnancy seems like an unattainable thing now for some reason. Aside from the MMC, I have no reason to think that, but I started trying 7 months ago (which feels like a million years ago) and I'm not pregnant. That's all my brain seems to see. It's strange, because normally I'm very logical.

QOTW: Anyone seen any good (or bad!) summer movies this year?  I haven't, but it has been suggested that DH and I need a date night. A movie would be nice, but the seats are so uncomfortable! Watching at home is more comfortable, but then it isn't a date night. :-?

    1. Happyktmom from VA

    2. TTC#2 for 16 CYLCES

    3. I haven't been consistent with this cycle at all...I took vitex a couple days, PNV's and VIT D, started a new probiotic regimen.  I also started working out and am going to start a 3 day cleanse next week and the the 21 Day Fix.  Probably not prime because it'll fall right after O'ing.

    4. CD8, just finished AF and waiting to O - trying temping again this month.

    5. trying not to get my hopes up like last cycle.  Going to the beach for my birthday and just want to relax.

QOTW: I wanted to see what all the fuss was with the Wet Hot American Summer 2 coming out, so I watched the first one.  I don't even remember it coming out in 2001 and feel like I would've really enjoyed it then but felt like it was a little lame now.

  • 1. Sporty1216 from NE

    2. TTC #2 for 7 months--took this month off for unrelated health reasons.

    3. On CD2 right now. Will do opks and we are doing a SA for DH and bloodwork for me. Should have the results of the SA today and I go for my blood draw tomorrow. It'll be nice to just have more information.

    4. CD2. Hopefully will be back on to trying this month and, assuming we are, I won't test until/if AF is at least one day overdue. That's my usual deal with myself. I try to wait a week, but if I can make it a few days before I test, I'll take it. Usually AF arrives close to on time, so I've only tested once since having LO, and that was back before we were trying!

    5. I feel glad that we are seeking out information. I like information. :) I'm trying to focus on trusting God's timing for us and on not losing hope. In the grand scheme, we haven't really been trying that long--but it's so different from the first time, it's hard to know what to think. I'm crying a lot this month. I hope getting to talk with the docs will help me feel less anxious/sad.

QOTW: Summer movies?! Those exist? Haha. Only things I have seen are on Netflix. Loved The Bletchley Circle series from BBC though. ;)
  • 1. Amanda Marie from MD

    2. Cycle #2, TTC #1

    3. What are you doing this cycle?
    Nothing.  :(

    4. Where are you in your cycle?
    I don't know.

    5. How do you feel about this cycle?
I'm very down.  My first cycle was great.  It was my first cycle of the pill.  I showed signs of ovulating, my period came in about when I expected it, I didn't have the mood swings I had the first few months on the pill, so I thought, "Great!  My cycle is back on track!"  So while my body is fine, my husband's is another story.  There has been no sex in weeks.  Not for lack of trying on either of our parts, it's just not happening.  I thought maybe he's just stressed out over the baby stuff, and he said he thought it was.

Since he seemed stressed, I pretty much stopped tracking.  I put my chart away and haven't been taking my temperature.  I keep an eye on my CM since he isn't aware of how/when I do it.

We had some nice chats about having a baby and other stuff, but it hasn't helped.  Now he's mentioning other related physical issues.  I told him he needs to get checked out, because it could be something more serious, but he's resisting. (Ironically, as his father is going into the hospital for heart surgery because thankfully, FIL thought something was off and got checked out!)  I told him if I had to, I'd find the doctor and make the appointment and go with him.  And if he doesn't, I will make the appointment and drag his butt in there kicking and screaming if I have to.  Now I'm just stressed and frustrated because I don't know what to do.

QOTW: Jurassic World is finally a squeal worth of the original Jurassic Park.
  • #1 - Goldsgirl9 from FL

#2 - TTC #2 since Dec (2 losses since then)

#3 - First month TTC since D&C in May. Just using OPK's but will start Q10 and DHEA supplements after I make it to the store. Also not really stressing about it. I started working out and overall I'm focusing on my health more than anything else right now.

#4 - CD8. Curious to see when I ovulate this month.

#5 - Not sure how I feel about this cycle. Always hopeful but not really obsessing like in the past.

#6 - I've only seen Jurassic World this summer and it was everything I hoped it would be.
  • @efhoping2010, I'm still so happy for you.

@amimhof, I hope you get answers soon and your husband is okay.

  • 1. Knottie-somenumber (Erin) from NJ

    2. TTC#2 for me, #3 for him, and #1 for us

    3. I was temping but that led to sleepless nights. So now just tracking CM and CP. Will OPK too.

    4. CD11, no idea when I'll O

    5. I'm feeling really anxious and down in general. Kinda like Eeyore, ya know?

    6. I haven't seen any movies this summer! But we did watch the entire Wayward Pines series!
  • Oh! I'm also trying the musinex trick this month.
  • 1. Tomerine, MA

    2. TTC #2 since January

    3. Taking a break from temping (for how long, we will see).  Prenatal vitamins, OPKs, Clomid, have an acupuncture appt to get that started again, trying not to have a mental breakdown and maintain my typically optimistic personality.  And currently enjoying a glass of wine as some consolation.  @knottie16743552 I'm with you on the Eeyore.  He was always my favorite anyway.

    4. Waiting for AF to officially start... spotting

    5. Meh.  I'm sort of in limbo, waiting for a new cycle to start.

QOTW: Sadly, I have seen no movies.  I really want to see Inside Out. It may be a kids' movie, but I've heard great things.

@efhoping2010 , hoping for more good news on Saturday!

@amimhof , I'm sorry things are so stressful and that your husband is feeling overwhelmed. I hope he gets checked out on his own, and you don't need to resort to dragging him there.  But you do what you have to do!

    2. TTC #2 for 14 months
    3. On a break, but gearing up for IUI #6 next month.  In addition to what I've been doing (no alcohol or diet pop, low carb, high protein, decreased caffeine, CoQ10, PNV, Vit D, Vit E, VIt C, DHA, Folic Acid, acupuncture, massage), I've added in Reiki, a new acupuncturist, and decreasing/eliminating gluten.  The new acupuncturist recommended a few new supplements - a prenatal that's a packet of 6 pills (Yikes), a B complex, inositol, a new Omega 3, and a probiotic.  I'm going all out for this last IUI.
    4. CD something.  I have a week left of BCPs and then a couple days for my period to show.
    5. Hopeful for next month.  Call me crazy, but this far in, I still hope...

Movies:  I've seen Jurassic World and Magic Mike - both were good in their own ways.

    @efhoping2010 - can't wait to hear what you're beta is! :)

    5. I'm not feeling very hopeful, but I have nothing to base that on whatsoever. I think I'm just in a bad mood. I'm also stressed about work which doesn't help.

QOTW: Anyone seen any good (or bad!) summer movies this year?

I haven't seen a movie all summer. H is never off on the weekend, so date night is like a thing of the past for us.
  • 1. Jill from NC

    2. TTC #1, not preventing since 11/12, actively trying since 8/14

    3. OPKs, temping, prenatals, inositol supplements, evening primrose oil, CoQ10, Vitamin E, Zinc, Vitamin D, probiotics, cayenne, Vitamin B, increased dose of Vitex (CD 3-9) and licorice (CD 3-9). Acupuncturist has me on a strict diet of absolutely NO carbs/sugars/fruits for 6 weeks. Ugh.

    4. CD 29. I'm pretty sure I didn't O this cycle. I started taking the progesterone last night.

    5. Why does my body have to be so crazy/unpredictable/ridiculous/irregular?!?!?! I hope the new diet and acupuncture will help with things. I JUST WANT TO OVULATE!! I'm also going to see a new RE on Aug. 4 so will see what he suggests. I just really really really want it to happen naturally and I'm kind of afraid of the drugs. But nothing seems to be happening so I need to move forward...

H doesn't like movie theaters (he gets claustrophobic). So we just watch stuff at home on Netflix but we haven't had a movie night in awhile....

    Good luck everyone!

@efhoping2010 - can't wait to hear the results from your first beta!

  • Hi all - sorry i haven't been around much this week. I was out of town for the weekend for my follow-up RE appt and some fun family events. Back to work on monday -- these next few weeks are my busiest weeks all year.

    2. ttc #1 for a while

    3. prepping for FET

    4. We had a good appt. w our RE last friday. Discussed the fresh transfer and loss (most likely aneuploidy embryo). Positive is that we know now that my lining is good and can support implantation. We are starting prep for our FET. I am on OCPs for several weeks (i added on an extra 1-2 weeks of the ocp's to better fit with my work schedule). Transfer will be mid-September-ish. We have 1 day 5 blast and 2 day 3 embryos. We have to decide which to transfer first or if we want to transfer them both on the same cycle. The latter would involve growing the day 3s in the lab to day 5 so they could all go in together. We are leaning towards two sep transfers as these give them all the best chance. But we have several weeks to make a final decision.

    5. Feeling optimistic about our day 5 blast. But since a ways plus busy at work not on my mind too much right now.

QOTW: Despite asking the question i rarely see movies (usually only on airplanes). But i am always saying will go to movie so always looking for recommendations. Sounds like Jurassic World is the winner. I am imagine that would be much better in the theater than on our kindle fire!

@efhoping2010 - wow! sounding promising --  hoping for a good beta for you on saturday! I can relate to the nervous and scared -- i felt way more anxious after i got the positive than during the tww.

@happyktmom - thanks for taking the checkin next week!

@amimhof: Sorry you and H are struggling. I hope he goes calmly to his appt and you get everything sorted out.

    4. I'm currently cd29, 12dpo
waiting for AF...temp dropped yesterday and was the same temp today.

    5. I'm just hoping AF shows and then I'll better gauge my feelings about this next cycle. Right now it's 84 degrees in the house and just as hot outside at 10pm. I'm waiting for AF and feeling really bitchy. [-X

@thistle8677 thanks for checking in on me! I'm at jury duty. (:| Do you think "I'm ttc and therefore not emotionally stable enough to be an unbiased juror" will get me out of it? I'm feeling a bit better though, despite still waiting for AF to officially start. DH has been very supportive and reassuring. How are you? I saw your other post. Here's to a fresh start?? Sigh.
  • I feel absolutely wretched. Monster headache and general ill feeling. Not nausea, more of a head thing, like I need to be horizontal. It's probably just a migraine. With the way work has been going, I'm not surprised. I'm only 6dpo, so I doubt it's pregnancy related.

    4. CD 6.  I'm temping, and about to start using OPKs to see if I start to surge before my baseline ultrasound on CD 10 (I have historically started to surge on CD 10 when medicated).

    5. Hopeful. Anxious. I think I'll be going nuts the second half of the TWW, when I get there.

Inside Out was amazing, but I kept crying!!!! I knew I would, based on how even the trailer made me cry.  We also saw Furiosa, I mean, Mad Max, and loved it.  Lots of very satisfying explosions.  We recently found a local theater with serious reclining seats-- it's like you're lying down-- and I don't think we'll go anywhere else for mainstream films.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
