Week: 5wks

What's new with baby (size, development): Appleseed today, apparently starting to make organs.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing yet, just crossing my fingers

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I had my second blood draw this morning so I'm hoping for good news, I will know if this is a viable pregnancy by the end of the day.
When is your next appointment: August 19th my first U/S

GTKY: What is your favorite color? Right now I'm going to go with Purple

LOVE the idea of doing this weekly since during first trimester especially it's same ol' same ol' - morning sickness, tired, etc. I know other boards do it weekly like this.

I just thought it would be nice to split the herd a little. As I said we can still do getting to know you, and I don't want to start anything but I agree we have 200+ days left of being pregnant and that is a lot of getting to know you daily. If this isn't a popular opinion then we can forget about it. I just thought I would give it a try.

Apparently this is the expected standard, I had no idea until yesterday! I think a lot of people are under the same misconception I was, that the check-ins are done daily.

I'm also in favor of a once a week check in. I think others that aren't going into a new week could still ask questions on the daily thread if they have them in order to keep the board from clogging up with one-off questions, but it doesn't seem necessary to answer all of the questions every single day..

So there would be a daily check in but it would only be for those going into their new week? If so that sounds good to me. I really like reading everyone's to keep up but it is a lot when everyone does it everyday!

I love this idea! I had mentioned it a few weeks ago and was shot down.

Week: 7 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development): Blueberry
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Not much. We decorated DS's future room and put his toys in there so he can get used to it. I'm just not sure when to transition him out of the crib and then transition him into that room.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Heartburn is rearing is ugly head and so is constipation. I don't remember it being this bad in the first trimester last time.
When is your next appointment: Next appointment related to the baby is 8-27. That will be my first appointment. I most likely won't get an ultrasound until the week after that though. I have an appointment on 8-4, but it is just so o can get a letter clearing me to cruise.
GTKY: What is your favorite color? I go between blue, green, and yellow. Currently I am in a blue phase.

Week: 9!

What's new with baby (size, development): "Seahorse" is now the size of an olive!!!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: still nauseous, but trying to eat more fruits and veggies.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: symptoms: TIRED, nausea comes and goes, mostly at bed time. rant/rave: my new doctor asked me about my birth plan at 8 weeks. I was like, um... whatever you think is best. She really pushed the possibility of a vbac. I thought it was so odd to have this discussion at 8 weeks!!! Has anyone else had this conversation with their doctor yet? After 2 miscarriages, I am still hoping this one stays sticky.
When is your next appointment: in 3 weeks, followed by the NT scan.

@bntfroggie Alaska! Our 5th anniversary is next month so we are leaving DS with my mom and getting a week away. Since we live near Seattle, there was no airfare to worry about and we got a great deal by waiting to book.

@aeh8810 we went on a cruise when I was 12 weeks with my second. Everything was ok except for fish night in the main cafe. From then on everything smelled like fish :-& I was seriously glad I asked my midwife for a Zofran prescription. And so jealous about an Alaskan cruise. That sounds amazing!

Week: 7

What's new with baby (size, development): Baby is now the size of a Blueberry!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing now.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I'm so nauseous. I haven't had a good nights sleep in over a week because as soon as I wake up to pee- that's it, I'm up for the rest of the night because I'm so nauseous I can't fall back asleep.

When is your next appointment: my first appointment is August 13th- at exactly 9 weeks

What's new with baby (size, development): We have graduated to fetus!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: going to see the endocrinologist tomorrow, and will probably start on insulin

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: still so exhausted, and pregnancy rage is in full effect

When is your next appointment: my first appointment is August 20th first pre natal & NT scan

Week: 9

What's new with baby (size, development): Green Olive... Baby is officially a fetus rather than an embryo.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Currently trying to figure out how we'll announce to the rest of my family. Also trying to decide if we should take down our crib. My DD is 2 and her twin bed is being delivered on Monday. Planned of taking the crib down and out of her room then, but now I am thinking maybe we should leave it up!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: 24/7 sick, sick, sick. No vomiting...thankfully, but I feel miserable all day, errrrry day.

When is your next appointment: Deciding if I want to do the early genetic testing, and find out gender that way, which would be done next Friday! Otherwise my next apt isn't until Aug 26th.

GTKY: What is your favorite color? Other than a 2 week period of life, when I was 7, where I thought green was pretty cool, PURPLE has and will always be my favorite!

hope your appt was awesome! i had my first appt friday too, and my favorite color is also yellow! i feel like there aren't as many lovers of the sunny shade as other colors, and i always wonder why.

What's new with baby (size, development): Bean is the size of a plum

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing right now- just went this weekend to buy maternity clothes!

When is your next appointment: 8/26- my 12 week appointment (although by then I'll be 12w6d)
