milky sweet dreams - pumping faux pas

One night baby and I both were so exhausted and that she didn't finish her feeding so I needed to pump. I grabbed the pump and started to pump. Eventually my lap felt really warm, I looked down my night shirt and bed were soaked. I had gone a full 5min without the bottle attached. I cried, cleaned up, and curled up in bed to sleep without finishing.

    Omg!!! I'm so sorry!
    I was pumping once and kept switching sides and pressing to get the full bottle and when i was done there were some drops in the plastic part you put on your breast so i tilted it back so it would get into the bottle and almost half the milk spilled from the slit in the back! I was so angry at myself!!!

    When I first started using my manual pump for some reason I thought you could use it I any position and I tried to turn it upside down. I had DD on my lap and I was trying not to bonk her head with the bottle and instead I showered her in milk.
