Baby # 2 EDD April 8

Hi all!

I just got my BFP yesterday for baby #2.  My son will be 2 next month.

When I was pregnant with him I was working, but when he was 6 months old I decided to stay home with him.  This pregnancy will be quite different being home all the time, and I'm a little worried what life is going to be like those first few weeks after #2 comes along since we'll have a toddler in the house.

Any moms that have 2 can you provide any insight into how you survived having a toddler and a newborn at the same time?

  • Congratulations! I need to follow this for any advice people give too! I have an 11 month old so we are looking at 2 under 2 and I wonder the same thing about having a newborn and a toddler at the same time.

  • Hello! New here! I have a 14 month old,and a 3 and 5 year old and just got a BFP. I'm nervous too even though I've done it before :). It really all depends on the individual baby and toddler and how much support you have around you. I think my hands will be very full. Best wishes to all of you ladies!
  • I started staying home with my toddler at around the same age. I'm nervous for the same reasons as you. I've learned from my friends with more than two, that it's hard at first, but you adjust and it becomes the new normal.

  • Hello & Welcome! You will make it work. Dont worry. I remember my sister potty training her 2 y/o with a newborn. It was hard at first but everything got better and easier.  Try and ask for help whenever you need it.  My sister was always hesitate to ask but I knew she needed me and would just show up. :)
  • Thanks ladies - we have my IL's close by (30 mins away), but that is the only family we have within 2 hours of us.  I'm sure it will become the new norm - just an adjustment that I'll need to make.

I hope to have my son potty trained (at least during the day) by Christmas so when baby #2 comes along I will (hopefully) just have one in diapers a majority of the day.

Congrats to all of you :)
  • Congrats!!
  • @lilav8tor I feel you on having family farther away. We live in south Florida, with no family in state, not in bordering states, no one closer than 1200 miles. We're also planning to have DD potty trained by then, in the next couple week actually, had several successful go's today. She's a bit of a firecracker (super sweet, funny, goofball, just a firecracker!) so a toddler and newborn could get VERY interesting.
