Food, the reason I had a bad day!

Today I was craving Taco Bell, meatball subs, and Christmas Crack (chocolate and caramel covered saltines). I run into town this evening ready to get some satisfaction and the first store didn't have brown sugar, went to another store got what I needed. Went through Taco Bell, couldn't get tacos because their credit card machine was down and all I had with me was a credit card. Decided on subway for a meatball sub. Subway was out of meatballs. By this time I was hangry! I drove home in tears.

My DH said he would make a batch of Christmas Crack and I could just relax. I hear the smoke alarm go off and my DH yelling that the oven is on fire. We get everyone outside and the fire gets put out.

We are all safe and everything is ok (other than the horrible smoke smell and needing a new oven), but we need to go back out and get dinner. I can't find my purse anywhere. It somehow vanished between Taco Bell and home.

The lesson of my misadventure, I should have stayed home and made meatloaf!

What are your craving/food related nightmares?

Re: Food, the reason I had a bad day!

  • Oh no! That's a terrible, no-good, very bad day! I feel you on those meatball subs, too. Ugh. Nothing worse than having a craving, getting in your car and going out to satisfy that craving, only to be disappointed. But three times? I would cry.

  • Omg! I've had unsatisfied cravings (apparently cream soda is a rare luxury in my area) but nothing like this!! Glad everyone is safe and that the only damage was to your stove.
  • Omg @mom4liak you poor thing!! That sounds awful. I hate it when NOTHING seems to go your way, just everything turns into an issue and not even the simplest things can manage. I totally understand, I prolly would've cried cried and then cried some more.

You deserve a good cry and all the ice cream in the world for today. When I was first pregnant,
I had a craving for watermelon on our way home but we didn't stop to get any. Then a few hours later we had to go back out and get some (at like 9:30). Lesson learned on my husband's part: when mama says she wants something, mama means it!

ETA: so yesterday when I said I wanted pineapple he immediately was like "okay, I'm going to get you a pineapple!" He's awesome lol
  • So last night when I was finally able to go to bed I just started to bawl. It was full on ugly crying! My poor DH felt so bad and that made me cry more because obviously it wasn't his fault. So far this morning has been ok. Although I have already decided that we will be having chicken scampi and garlic bread for dinner! Oh pregnancy cravings, I just don't understand you!
  • That really sucks! Hopefully you can satisfy your cravings today and find your purse!!
