Boppy sleeping

I know the boppy says to not let baby sleep in it but she will not sleep in anything else. Baby girl will fall asleep no problem but whenever I go to lay her down in her crib, pack and ppla or swing she wakes up either before I lay her down or barely even 5 minutes after I set her down. She used to sleep in her crib without a problem but now she would rather sleep in daddy or I's arms.

Out of curiosity I laid her in the boppy for her nap and she is sleeping like a champ. I don't leave her side when she is sleeping in the boppy but I'm wondering if any other moms have done this and what their outcome was. Baby will be three weeks tomorrow..

Re: Boppy sleeping

  • I think as long as you are watching her it should be fine. Have you tried the incline sleep thingy for the crib? If you are worried about having her sleep in boppy maybe she would feel more comfortable at an incline?

  • I let him sleep in the boppy supervised but wouldn't do it unsupervised. Try a Rock 'n Play.
  • Yep, I'd say supervised you're fine. But def look into the crib incline thing if you want to do something similar unsupervised. Or you can also just put a pillow under the mattress as well.
  • You should get the boppy lounger. My little baby girl loves it and sleep in it all the time.

my daughter loves her Boppy lounger too. She takes most of her naps in it. Only thing is that you still have to supervise babies in the lounger.
  • I love my rock and play!!

  • There is a warning label for a reason. Do NOT let them sleep on the boppy. It was all over the news this evening that 3 infants have recently died in Pennsylvania due to this and their airway was restricted.

  • ^ just searched for that article and I'm officially freaked out. No more sleeping in it, even if I supervise him!
  • I still have the same struggle with naps. LO usually takes them on me! At night I try to get him really sleepy and then lay him down. I usually have to go in a few times to pop the paci back in or comfort nurse for a bit.
You could try having someone else put LO in the crib. DH has much better luck than I do! Or you could snuggle LO in their swaddle so it's still warm from you.
  • I let her sleep in her boppy for short periods of time.
  • Try something like a bassinet or rock n play. Don't let your infants sleep on the boppy!!!
  • My LO sleeps Ina Rock N Play. I think it's the incline and sort of feels like he's being held.
  • The incline thing for the crib is not enough for my baby either. She always had the bassinet in the hospital tilted and she got used to that and its the only way she will sleep.
  • Is she fussy when you lay her back? Try giving her mylicon. She may have reflux.

Also, car seats for too long, or swings. Anything that tilts there head can cause restricted air ways. So when baby is in these things, make sure there not hunched up.
  • Had this problem with my LO the Rock and Play has been awesome and it fits right next to the bed for easy feeding at night!
