Just wanted to share my excitement! We had the Harmony test and everything came back low risk.. Fyi (because I wanted to know) it only took a week to get my results. Did blood test on 20th. Received results on the am of the 27th... :x
Congrats!!! Been debating on getting the test. How do they display the results? It's the boy/girl thing like on a separate page, or is it just mixed in with all the information? We want to keep the sex a surprise for a while longer (gender reveal), so I don't want to accidentally see it as I review the other results.
Is this blood test a non-invasive way to find out the sex? We are also 12w1d, and itching to know! What was the cost? My midwife kinda discouraged me from finding out sex early bc she just seemed to believe it waiting until the later appt. & "if the Baby wants to let you know" ... She didn't give any info on how to go about finding it out early

@lalathornton there are several threads that discuss this blood test on this forum. They are generally called cf DNA test but based on which you get, they may be called Materniti21, Harmony etc. You can search for threads here that talkabout them. Basically, these are tests done to screen for chromosome abnormalities by drawing blood from the mother and looking for presence of the baby's DNA. It is non invasive, but this isn't a "sex test". It's recommended to AMAs or high risk for chromosome abnormalities due to family history and etc. The cost will depend on whether or not your insurance will cover it. If you are not high risk or AMA, I doubt your insurance will cover it, which can cost several hundreds to close to a thousand. My friend whose insurance did not cover it, had to pay $800 out of pocket.

I don't know when your friend had hers done, but I think harmony recently changed their policies to cap the fee at $130 for those whose insurance doesn't cover it. My insurance doesn't cover it and that's what my OB said it would cost because Harmony capped the out of pocket patient cost.
Ok thank you -- I figured this was the test I was familiar with but never heard it called Harmony, or coming from a private location... I'm going to try & wait out the time to find the sex... But it's nice to have the option in case there's any reason the baby doesn't let itself be shown via US bc def wanna know! Ty!
