Multiples Check in January 28th - Concerns, Questions, Opinions, Issues, Symptoms, etc.

Good Morning everyone how is this week treating you all? Please sure this thread to post anything you'd like to share about your journey thus far with your multiples pregnancy. Please let us know how far along you are as well and when you are due.

I'm 15 weeks and 2 days and babies are the size of navel oranges. Boy and girl fraternal twins. Super excited. I worked out this morning so I'm happy about that. Trying to get back into a routine. I mostly walk on my incline trainer for about 45 mins to an hour most mornings. It helps burns some of the calories I'm putting in my body when I eat really unhealthy food. Plus it gives me a little energy for the day.

My calorie intake has slowed down a bit. I'm not eating as often as I was before. Or maybe it's staying the same because I'm eating less often but when I eat the portions are larger. Idk but I am glad that feeling of not needing to eat every 2 hours has passed.

My back is hurting me. The lower right side. Not sure what that's about but maybe because I work a desk job.

My face has broken out which sucks because I was so happy about how clear and glowy my skin was for such a long time. Hopefully it passes. I've been using a pregnancy pillow which is amazing! it helps to have something to snuggle with since hubby isn't home :-(

Babies are moving up closer to my belly button instead of way down in the pelvic area. My next dr appointment is on Aug 10th. I stil haven't announced on FB but plan to on our wedding anniversary which is Sept 8th. Still a while to go but most people who I've wanted to know, know.

Re: Multiples Check in January 28th - Concerns, Questions, Opinions, Issues, Symptoms, etc.

  • Hi all!

I am 13w3d and thus considering this the last day of my first trimester.  Very excited to be entering the 2nd trimester (it sure sounds like the best one ;-) )

I have felt a lot better the past few days and making a conscious effort to eat better and attempt some exercise as a result.  Nausea reared its ugly head an hour or so ago and I was back in the bathroom puking.  I am hopeful it fades away. I am also finding my appetite is decreasing, which I welcome.

My skin is so, so awful.  I am trying to stay positive despite that + my "bump" which truly just looks like I gained a lot of weight in my stomach.  I want to look pregnant!

I am trying to transition out of sleeping on my back. I think I need a pregnancy pillow.

Despite all these difficult symptoms, I am so grateful to be on this journey.  Often I force myself to stop and think about these two tiny lives growing inside of me (it's easy to forget), and remember that THAT is what every second of this is for.

  • I'm in week 16 - the kids are the size of avocados! I'm so happy to be out of the first trimester ickiness. I was on vacation with my husband and his family last week and I ate CONSTANTLY and without guilt ;) I stuffed myself with healthy stuff and lots of water. It's great to actually feel hungry again!

I'm finally starting to look more pregnant and less "fat," but the round ligament pains... oh my! None of my new mom or currently pregnant friends get it - TWO babies in ONE uterus!

We've started talking to them more and husband plays guitar to my belly every night before bed - it's very sweet how excited he is. These are our first and we couldn't be happier to be having twins.

In a few more weeks we'll get to find out the sex(es), and I'm dying to know! I have a feeling they're boy/girl... but time will tell!

    Hooray for second trimester!
  • Woohoo for finally starting to look pregnant instead of bloated. I am sure most people think I've just fallen off my workout routine. Pretty embarrassing but most people I work with now know it's twins. @Theliops that is super adorable your husband plays the guitar to them every night. @happyandhopeful3 the pillow is perfect! It cushions up against my back which is a big help.

  • I'm 14 weeks 1 day today and the size of lemons. If I didn't see the ultrasounds I honestly wouldn't know I'm expecting let alone twins! I'm getting some round ligament pain which holy ouch but other than that pretty good. I have an appointment on the 10th of august with my OB and I meet with high risk OB on Sept 1st the day after my 35th birthday. These are my first and hubby and I are both very excited. We just bought our fist home in may so a LOT going on in our household
  • Hi!
This is my first time posting on the multiples board!
I'm having twins January 2nd, but the midwife told me to expect them at Christmas! Listened to the heartbeats yesterday, and did genetic testing, so hoping to find out the sex soon!

Today is the first day in 7 weeks that I haven't thrown up! I'm hoping tomorrow will be the same!

I am huge, and I can feel the babies kicking constantly! My husband can even feel them! I told the midwife this, and she said she wasn't surprised because the little ones are so active!
It's nice to finally join the multiples group!
  • January 20th*
  • Hello! This is the first time I have posted on the multiples thread! Just been getting the feel of everything! But I'm 15 weeks today with di/di twins! I'm so excited to be out of the sickness stage! I'm a FTM so this has all been very new and exciting for my husband and I. I currently live in Japan so being alway from our family is going to be though. I haven't been really noticing to many changes. I was hoping I would start to show more by now but it still looks like started taking up drinking a 6 pack a day. Lol
I'm super excited to start feeling them moving in there then I think my anxiety will decrease! My next appointments on the 10th of Aug as well! It looks like we all are due around the same time! A couple more weeks and we will find out what these little squirts sexes are! I can not wait! I just want to go shopping already!
I am thankful to have found this group and look forward to many more posts from everyone!
  • January 20th*

Youre due Jan 20th and feeling them kicking constantly? ? I'm so jealous. I'm due Jan 16th.

  • I'm 14w with BG twins. I feel fine but am starting to look fat. Not pregnant yet ;) hah

My first cervix and growth scan is in 2 weeks, and then I'm basically on at two week rotation at the MFM until 22 then we will see.

We haven't announced officially though a lot of people know. Maybe next week.

  • I'm 17 weeks 1 day and I feel enormous. I can't even think of how huge I'm going to be by the end *shudder*.

We find out the sex of our di/di twins in less than a week!! Eek! So excited. I've been listening to their heartbeats on my Doppler frequently and have just now started to sometimes feel movement.

I've had the WORST headache the last few days :( I don't remember this from my previous pregnancies, but it suuuuucks. Hoping some caffeine and Tylenol will help with it today.

We haven't announced on social media, but all family and close friends know (heck even strangers that see me know I'm pregnant). We will probably announce after our ultrasound next week :)

  • @keshakdavis I know! I'm not that far along! At first I didn't believe it was them! They move so much though! You'll feel it so soon and it will be wonderful!
  • Get guys! I'm 14 weeks and change (I need a ticker because I seriously can't keep track). This is my second pregnancy so keeping up with my toddler is making time go by SO fast. Some days I don't even get the chance to "feel" pregnant, if that makes sense?

I'm finally over the nausea *knock on wood* but I'm already having trouble sleeping at night, which didn't happen until 3rd tri last time. I'm SO tired all the time, but can't sleep. Wtf?!

I'm having mo/di twins so they have their own sac but share a placenta. There are so many risks that come with this, so I'm just taking it day by day and reminding myself that just because there is a risk doesn't mean it's going to happen.
  • Hi everyone,
Im currently 17w3d with mo/di identical twins. I'm due jan 3rd but know I will more than likely be celebrating Christmas with them. I have a 4 year old son already who is super excited about "his babies". I feel fantastic other than some mild ankle swelling, however my belly is huge! I look like I did at 7 months with my son. My belly button has even started popping out. We have our anatomy scan on August 10th but we decided to have a reveal party with these two so I will not find out the gender until August 22nd. I have felt them wiggling a bit here and there but nothing too crazy yet. I'm very excited to find out if they are boys or girls. And on a funny note, I am truly amazed when I tell people I'm having identical twins how many people say "oh...maybe you will have one boy and one girl!" Ummmmmm no. Lol. Best of luck to all of you!
  • You mean me waking up every hour to toss and turn is normal??? This has been going on and I'm sooooo tired at work it's getting crazy. I expected this later on but only 14 and a half weeks. Oh well all worth it in the end.

    @R0xy345 - post a bump pic!
  • Hi all. It's been a while since I posted. Glad to see our check in still happening. I am 15 weeks, 16 this weekend. I was feeling a lot better - just some headaches and fatigue until Monday. Then I got the nausea back. Not terrible until today. It was intense and I threw up again. I hope it doesn't last because the first tri was torture!!!

I am so jealous of you @Juliadowlingbrisbane! I wish I could feel them! Sometimes at night if I'm very still I think I feel them - but it's very light light flutters. I can't wait till I feel them l the time ! Just to know they are there and ok.

As of my last ultrasound the doc thinks we are having two boys. One for sure, the other he has trouble seeing since his legs were covering but he said 90% boy. I really wanted a boy and a girl but I'm ecstatic nonetheless! I love being able to know and start to talk to my boys! :). I just want to know for sure. Hopefully next Wednesday at my next scan.

Hi ladies. I am 14w5d today. We did u/s yesterday and the OB told me one of them is a girl. Yay. So excited. :)

Oh yeah, the doctor also told me that my baby B is 10% smaller than baby A.

Do you ladies have the same problem? I'm nervous. I'm still nauseous and headache, don't feel like eating much. :(
  • I had a nose bleed today in the middle of a restaurant
  • I read that nose bleeds are common around this time of pregnancy. Is anyone else's appetite going down? It's been 2 days in a row I haven't been hungry at lunch and not eating it till around 4. Lunch is normally around 1230.

  • @nanamp here's a 17 w bump pic
  • Hi all!
I am 17w 5days! Onions...think they could have found something better! I swear I felt my babies moving a few times now, even my husband has felt them. I can't wait until it's really big movements with hands and feet going everywhere.
I have an us Aug 10th too! We're going to find out the sexes then. At first I didn't want to know, but because my husband wanted to so badly I really want to know now too.
I've been eating less frequently and feeling less hungry, but probably eating the same calories overall. My nausea and vomiting has almost stopped completely which is so great! Smells still set me off though. I have been having nose bleeds too! In the morning mostly and some at night.
The last us the dr said my babies were 3days apart in size and that they can be up to 300g (10 ounces) different without any issues.

So glad we have such a great twins group! Thanks to everyone for sharing, I love seeing what everyone is up to!

I have sciatic nerve pain on my left side... I'm so sad. I had it due to an injury and now that same side it getting it again. =( I hope it's just increased activity.

Ladies talking about decreased appetite - same here. I crave food at about 4, but if I don't eat throughout the day I get nauseous. Somehow nothing looks good to eat. I craved a Big Mac yesterday (turns out baby didn't like it).
