Looking for a opinions on a product for swelling

I'm wondering if any of you other mamas have tried any anti swelling gels or creams for feet and ankles. If so which brands did you like or think was a waste of money. This is my 3rd baby but first summer baby and the swelling in my feet and ankles is UNREAL! I'm drinking plenty of water, elevating my feet, wearing good shoes etc... but my SIL mentioned she had tried a gel with her pregnancy 5 years ago and really liked it. Downside is she can't remember the brand, any suggestions would be appreciated!

  • Get compression socks or pantyhose. I wear maternity compression pantyhose everyday and it helps a lot. I purchased a couple pairs myself and then also got a few pairs through insurance. They're kind of expensive but totally worth it.

  • I use Mustela leg gel and I like it. My skin feels so stretched and then I put it on and I can feel a difference.
  • Compression socks and cypress oil have worked for me!
  • Soaking in Epsom salt has been helping me!! I also keep pure Aloe Vera in the refrigerator and put it on at night; it helps!

  • How are you people wearing socks in this summer heat?!?! I'd get compression socks but I would fall over from heat exhaustion.

  • It is so hot! I have compression socks that I wear at home and at work in the AC- today it isn't enough. Any other suggestions?
  • The compression socks have been amazing but they are SO HOT. I work outside all day on Mondays & Tuesday's and I'm standing/walking around so if I don't wear them my feet are miserable and if I do I am overheating. It's terrible.
  • @Sweet Sadie Mae I bought a breathable type from Walmart. They are pretty thin but still offer just enough compression. They don't get too hot, but I'm also inside most of the time so I'm not wearing them in the heat. I honestly think massaging the cypress oil in is what is helping me the most. :)

Is it an essential oil you are using, like Young Living? I have cypress oil but have never used it. And just checking my list that my oil lady gave me, it ranks under the 'use with caution' list. Do you know what the precautions are?
  • My mom sells young living oils... Ill have to go text her and see what's up!

  • @Sweet Sadie Mae yes. I personally only trust dōTERRA pregnant or not. The only oil that I will not use during pregnancy is Clary Sage. I don't know what the purification process for young living entails, but dōTERRA is safe. There is a wonderful book on Amazon for $10 by Stephanie Fritz. It's "essential oils for pregnancy, birth, and babies" I would check it out. She bases it on dōTERRA but it's tips and oils and blends used specifically for different issues and symptoms associated with pregnancy. Great advice for oils with babies as well!
  • I soak my feet in Epson salts a lot. It helps. Haven't tried the aloe, but sounds like a good idea!
