beached whale with a bowling ball

39 weeks. Baby has been low but her head was not quite in position yet at 38 weeks,,, tonight I suddenly have the feeling of a bowling ball between my legs.

Pretty sure she is locked and loaded, dropped into position. I cannot walk. I have to do this waddle where I am painfully dragging one foot forward, then the other, while leaning forward bracing myself on the closest piece of furniture. I cannot move my legs/knees together.

I tried to climb into bed and got stuck, in pain, slightly on my back and literally could not move my left leg up. I couldn't move at all, totally felt like a beached whale! It took me ten minutes to find a way to shift my position while my 2-year-old asked why I was sad since by then I had tears of pain. DH was downstairs, oblivious since he thought I was just putting our daughter to bed.

Oh and my toddler has to sleep with me tonight since she fell down the stairs and hit her head. I have to wake her up every two hours to make sure she didn't get a concussion. So far she is ok but this is really not the night to be sleeping with me!

Hope y'all are hanging in there. Home stretch!

  • Whew lord! You're having a grand ol time. The finish line is near love! Be encouraged

  • Omg my DH had to help me out if bed and then to walk to the bathroom until I could grab onto the wall. Then had to help me lift my legs back into bed again. This is ridiculous. I don't remember having it this bad 2 years ago!
  • Yikes that sounds awful! Hope you find a way to get some relief soon!

  • I went through the exact same thing this past weekend. Husband was away and I was bawling every time I tried to even shift my weight. I thought something terrible had happened to my pelvis. We eventually reasoned that I had pulled a muscle getting out of the tub, since it only hurt while I was trying to move myself. He spent the next couple of days fetching and carrying, helping me get in and out of bed. Still not 100%, a little bit of muscle pain when getting up and down, but feeling soooo much better by now.
  • I wish I had just pulled a muscle!

I did manage to hobble around this morning and got DD her breakfast. I have a friend bringing me lunch today and a playmate for DD so I should be able to rest a bit. My mom and cousin's wife are both willing to come over too if need be, and my mom's already taking DD tomorrow for the whole day since I have an OB appt. i should be able to get through this! Home stretch, baby.

I really really just want to do some sewing though...
