Early teething

Anyone experiencing teething early? My DD is only 10 weeks and I noticed she's already cutting her first tooth. My older son got his first tooth around 7-8months so I am completely shocked.

Re: Early teething

  • My son is cutting his first two teeth right now at 11 weeks.

  • Mine too, and I'm still breastfeeding
  • First time mom here... What are signs of teething?
  • My little guy is 10 weeks and has started drooling like crazy, I wondered if he might start teething soon, but thought he was too young for that. Maybe he will start soon after-all.

  • My daughter is 11 weeks and she puts her fists and fingers in her mouth a lot. She's also starting to drool a little so in assuming she will be teething soon too.
  • My daughter is three months old and she's been chewing on her fist all the time. And the amount of drool is unbelievable. Everything is soaking wet. I've been trying to get her to chew on Sophie (organic rubber giraffe) but grasping things isn't in her mind yet.
  • My daughter is exactly the same - tried the Sophie this morning but as you said at 12 weeks they're not quite ready to grasp.
  • @alissapalooza and @stephg86 just to let u know I read some articles about Sophie the Giraffe and that they can be a choking hazard for small babies due to the shape of the legs! They have been known to get stuck in babies throats, if I find the link I'll post it here xx
  • @Babog10 I'll have to look into that. Personally I would never leave her alone to chew on something but it's better to be safe than sorry. Thank you.
  • First teeth to come in are usually the lower 2 front incisors. Around 6 months is normal but some come earlier. (Some even are born with a couple teeth). Teething usually follows growth spurts. As the head grows it allows for more space for teeth to come in. Drooling, chewing, and a little fussiness all normal. Once the teeth break the gums any soreness will pass quickly. The first ones are much easier then the molars. All teeth should be in by 2 years.
  • How long were your babies showing the teething symptoms before the teeth broke thru? My son is only 3 months so I thought it was too early but he has a lot of the signs. Drooling like crazy, fists in his mouth, was chewing on the stroller strap today and fussy here and there.
  • Mine is only two months and is showing signs of teething. You can see little white spot where tooth is coming in.
  • My son started showing signs of teething around 11 weeks. He is constantly chewing on his hand. Tried some teething toys but he was not a fan. Any recommendations?
  • Drooling and putting the hands in the mouth is normal for an 11 to 12 week old. It is part of their development to find their hands and explore things with their mouth. It does not mean they are teething
  • My daughter is 13 weeks and has 6 teeth coming at once all on the top, the fangs coming through first. She's having stomach ache from the pain (lots of vomiting in the last few days) and she is too young to hold a teething ring or to have bonjela so she just keeps crying and chewing her hand. She's going to look like a baby vampire very soon, poor thing.
