"Mini period" in baby girls

so I looked it up online a few different places and it sounds like a normal occurrence, but has anyone's baby girl had a "mini period"? I noticed a small amount of blood in her diaper, and it's definitely coming from her vagina. Sounds like it's a response to the lack of estrogen now compared to my estrogen she was exposed to in utero. So it seems like something normal, just wanted to see if anyone else experienced it.

    Yes when she was a few days old. Only once.

    No, but she had quite a bit of discharge. Totally normal though

    Yeah she's 4 days old. Article I found said usually happens within the first week and can last for a few days apparently. Might call the pediatrician tomorrow and ask about it just to be safe.

    My daughter had just discharge as well. Her discharge lasted about 4-5 days, though.

    Yes it is normal. Due to your hormones. She could also produce a little breast milk from her nipples. My daughter had that in the first week. It's normal. If it continues or happens from her anus call the doctor. That could be a sign of an intestinal issue.

    The nurse while we were in the hospital told me this could happen but I never saw any blood. She said it was because of hormones.

    They briefed us on it in the hospital as well, we didn't see it with our little girl but my best friends daughter had it.

    My baby girl didn't have it but our pediatrian told us about it and it's normal.

    Thanks everyone! It was only bright red the one time, maybe a tiny bit more but darker for 2-3 more diapers, and nothing this morning. Just a bit alarming to open s diaper and see that- girl, you're 4 days old, can't be doing this already!! Give me 12 more years haha.

    Oh I forgot about that. So weird. My oldest had spotting and milk. But my other two girls didn't.

    I had a boy and my Pediatrician said it's normal for girls to bleed and for boys to have breasts. It's your hormones and it will go away.

    I had this with my daughter, completely normal. This time my son had a huge scrotum for a couple of days until everything settled down... Hormones eh? X

    My boy def has enlarged nipples bc of hormones, which I was told was normal by my doc, so I would assume the bleeding would be normal too, but of course I would double check with your doctor
