Favorite finger foods!

We are starting to transition to self-feeding and I was wanting to get more ideas for first finger foods we should try. DS loves the lil' crunchies by Gerber!

Re: Favorite finger foods!

  • None yet mine still gags!! Put she is able to handle shredded cheese lol she loves cheese... You can try banana avocado boiled soft veggies, Cheerios

  • LO loves Gerber munchies and Mum Mums. On the messier side, she eats banana and mango slices.
  • Ours eats whatever we eat! He likes meat the best! Chicken, salmon, steak or shrimp in sticks. Also likes strawberries, grapes cut in half, and toast fingers. He hated purees so we switched to finger foods. He really enjoyed cucumber sticks today, too.

  • baked sweet potato (both my DDs eat them like crazy), pears, blueberries, sweet peas, mashed cauliflower, cooked carrots, banana with cinnamon, soft sliced cheese rolled up then cut into small pieces, the list goes on!

as long as it's soft, not crunchy really, and in small bites, most babies can eat about anything!

  • I'm also curious how many teeth these great eaters have!?
  • I've just started LO on finger foods. He has zero teeth. But munches away on them anyway. So far he's had bananas, and these carrot puff things I bought he LOVES them.
  • Ours has a whopping 7 teeth, so he's chomping away. We also did blueberry rice puffs but they made him really constipated, so we are sticking with real blueberries for now! He loved them though!

  • My DD has three on the bottom & four on top.. I'm so shocked my first had maybe 3 at this age.
  • LO has two front teeth now so you might want to wait but she eats cut up chicken nuggets, peas, rice, tiny pasta, and corn. Also got her the apple chunks from gerber. I let her try some tofu but I think it's too plain for her. Also tried some shredded cheese and some cubes of cheese.
When she didn't have the teeth yet she seemed okay with some rice but only a few grains, peas, and corn. Without teeth, she still loved teething biscuits. I forget the brand but there are 2 that she's tried and one is a lot messier than the other.
  • Lo has 8 teeth now and it still makes me nervous when she eats the gerber puffs. We have the long cheeto like ones and the star puffs. She is a show hound I feel like she just wants to shove them in her mouth and swallow. Just takes practice I guess. She's only been eating them for a few weeks.
