Mood/Personality Change because of Pregnancy

I've read several articles that discuss a change in the mother-to-be's mood/personality (for lack of a better word) and was wondering if it has been happening to any of you guys.

For example, I used to get major road rage before I was pregnant. Now, I kinda just drive safer, am more patient and just kinda care free, not nervous or anxious. Not because I'm trying to be safer (although, should be the main reason!) to not injure myself and baby, but because I feel more at ease!

For any of those who have children, did your mood/personality while pregnant reflect on what your child is like now that he/she is born? I guess my main question is, did the baby change our moods to be like him/her or did our mood, while pregnant, define them?

No smart remarks, ladies. Just want to pick your brain :)

  • Not for me. At least not that I know of. My kids are 3.5 and 9 months.

  • I've gotten more moody, and VERY opinionated, in the past 4-5 weeks! I think each person is different, and reacts differently to their hormones. But mine like to help make me more mouthy, opinionated, and moody. :))

I don't think I'm any different really. I tolerate other people's children a bit more :) Which i found interesting and also reassuring. I feel about kids the way i feel about adults. They're people and I dislike most people. The only people I tend to like without any prejudice are babies and the very old.

But lately, I find that hearing one burst out laughing makes me want to cry because it's so damn cute. So that's a really good thing. I'm happy that this is happening to me.
