Baby exersaucer?

My LO is 11 weeks old and has really good head control. I put her in her lil jumper to see how she would do and she does really well. She tolerates it for no more than 10 minutes at a time but she doesn't play with the toys are anything. Mostly talks and stares around(which is why I think she likes it). When do they start getting interested in the toys and things? I don't wanna do anything to harm her as well, so I do stay with her at all times. Is this to early to be putting her in it?

Re: Baby exersaucer?

  • I've been putting my LO in his for about 3 weeks now. He is 12 weeks this past Sunday. He doesn't really play with the stuff but he stands and jumps & I put baby Einstein & he watches it. I put a pillow behind him so his head doesn't fall back and smack one of the toys. He good for about a half and hr so. It's nice cause I get stuff done while he's in it.

  • DS is 12 weeks and we just went and got the jumper out of the basement yesterday to try it. He loves standing up supported so j figured he would enjoy it and he does. He reaches for all the toys and spins them. Like PP, he doesn't last much longer than 10 minutes but I'll take it! I shove blankets around him to support him better (even though he is a chunker).

I put LO in a swing for the first time today so i don't really have any valuable input but i just wanted to comment on how adorable your babies look sitting there!! Makes me wanna get LO 1 now just to take a picture lol
  • We're picking up a fisher price jumper on friday he loves standing on us and bouncing but he's only 10 weeks so we wanted to wait a little bit to give him more time to work on those next muscles, but he'll be 11 weeks when we buy it. As long as they can support their own heads it's acceptable.
  • Omg must say all the babie look so cute!
  • Look at all these cuties, my heart is melting over here!!!

I haven't even thought of buying DS one yet, but now I'm tempted too
  • I have been wanting to get my LO an exersaucer because he loves playing and standing on us. My only fear is his head control. At our last appointment his weight was in the 20th percentile and head circumference in the 80th. He does pretty good but you can tell it gets heavy for him.

Your little babies are absolutely adorable!!
  • @jame1380 - we are in the same boat! I would love to use the exersaucer for my LO, but I know he can't hold up his big head yet haha. He's 50th percentile for weight but 97th percentile for head circumference (the doctor asked us if we had a lot of large headed people in our family...umm thanks?)

Needless to say I'll be waiting a while before we can use the exersaucer. But I can't wait!!
  • He's not too interested in his yet. This is a smaller one we got as a shower gift, and have a larger one for when he's older. We put some folded up towels underneath him so his feet could touch the floor. He mostly looks around the house and doesn't really play with it, so he gets to try it once or twice a week. I'm just waiting for him to be more interested in it before I let him stay in for longer.
  • Lol I just put mine together last night. The instructions say at least 4 months and less than 25 lb and less than 30 in and can sit unassisted. I feel like if I followed that she would grow out of it in a month. I think as long as her legs are supported with a pillow and i am right there it should be fine. I wouldn't walk away yet.
She likes the bouncing motion but can't do it herself yet and there is a lot to look at so she gets overwhelmed after a few minutes. I'm thinking in a month it will be the best thing ever. She is 10 weeks old btw.
  • @jame1380 and @chambersbaby2015 We're in the same spot! DD is 14th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for head. She has awesome head control when we're holding her and she's looking around, but at 10 weeks she still HATES tummy time... Never thought about the fact that her head size might be contributing! Good to know.
