I am outraged!

by the Sandra Bland story!  My heart breaks for that woman, and they killed her and are lying about it!  I do not want my child to live in a world of murderers and liars!  There are consequences for such actions and in return we must address these problems head on.  Mothers! Teach your children how to love in this world.  What it really means and looks like in all situations, no matter what the circumstances.  When your children do wrong be strong and unwavering about what is right and what is wrong.  In the end, our adherence to truth is what will evolve our society and enable us to creatively solve our problems, but not only that, to realize our dreams.  now, today, and tomorrow.

This is not appropriate for a moms forum. Way too controversial. And way too much misinformation out there
  • What about teaching kids to love is controversial? Feeling like you've just brought a child into a horrible world is a mom-issue too...

I will teach my child to love. I will also teach him to intellgently investigate a situation before arriving at an opinion and posting it on social media. We don't know what happened to that woman yet so it seems premature to Villainize anyone right now.
  • @lola2bee I didn't mean she shouldn't express her opinion on the Internet, by all means go ahead, what I was saying is this specific forum is not the place. I don't want to get into an argument over this and you're right, I can just skip over these posts, but I don't come on here to have to skip over posts that aren't relevant.
  • Yeah, I could have said it differently. I just reacted with such strong emotion to this story- hearing it on NPR while looking at my sweet, sleeping child, thinking of how we all start out as beautiful children, and then what happens? It just breaks my heart and I want my children to grow to do something positive in the world- and feeling the weight/responsibility to raise them in awareness that we are all connected.
  • I agree with your opinion on this issue- I also agree it was kind of odd to see it here- but, in the sense that I worry about the world for my DD. amen. There's so much going on that I think, oh my, what will my baby's world be like. The environment, etc. let's all try and raise lovely people who will improve the world they are inheriting <3
  • What happened to the lady? Sorry I'm in Australia so no clue

I read up on this - African American woman died in Police custody. She was an advocate against police Brutality. There is some dispute on how she died.
  • The woman was pulled over for a traffic violation, ended up in jail over-night, and (some say) suspiciously ended up hanged to death in her cell the following morning.
