Pressure

I woke up this morning with a lot of pressure at the bottoms of my stomach. I took some Tylenol and for the last hour it has been pressure coming and going. Are these just growing pains or should I call my doctor?

Re: Pressure

  • Probably growing and the way the baby is laying.

  • I get this sometimes.  For me it's uncomfortable, but not painful.  I was told with my last pregnancy it was because of the baby's position.  I don't know your medical history though so if you're concerned, I would call your doctor.  In the meantime you could always try eating or drinking something cold and sweet to see if that gets the baby moving.  It might help, but if not you haven't lost anything by trying.
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

  • just call your doctor!

Is your belly rock hard with the pressure? I've noticed lots of pressure from Braxton hicks. As well as when baby is REALLY low I feel tons of pressure right above my bladder until he moves up. Try drinking tons of water and making sure you're emptying your bladder completely. Lean forward when you pee so you know it's empty. I wouldn't stress too much about it though as long as it's not painful
  • You can also try getting on your hands and knees.  It will relieve some of that pressure and can make baby switch positions.

  • Thabks Ladies, I feel so much better
  • I feel pressure when baby is hanging out on my bladder. Usually I just poke/jiggle belly and the little turkey moves over eventually. At my anatomy scan, baby's head was on my cervix, definitely explained the pressure I'd been feeling on and off (my midwife did a urine dip just in case, no UTI)
