Trying to Get Pregnant

7+ months TTC

Anyone else been TTC for 7 plus months?  I am freaking out.  I have had 9 cycles in just 7 months and even when we time everything perfectly, nothing.  The last two months, I have charted and my luteal phase seems to be short (7-9 days), but online there is so much conflicting info (ie: take b6 or use progesterone cream or clomid).  What are the chances that having taken the pill for almost a decade could have completely messed with my hormones?  I have an appointment with an RE scheduled for November, but in the meantime, I just want to give up.  I hope my body naturally gets its act together and that it's not my husband (we used the at home sperm kit and it was positive).  My anxiety and sadness are seriously getting the best of me at this point.

  • I concieved at cycle 8 and 9 for my kids. It is hard but knowing that a healthy couple can take up to 12 months is true.

And my LP is around 9 to 11 days.
    Thank God for Raid.

My first child I concieved was exactly at 1 year since we had went off of BC. My dh and I are currently on cycle 7 and have been trying since Dec. Of course my fertility had no bearing on yours. It's really hard and I completely get that. Unfortunately anything under a year is normal. It's hard to wait but don't start looking for herbals or supplements. They can do alot of damage to your hormones and cycles as well. Keep charting as that's the best way to help your chances of ttc.

10 months here currently. Took 16 cycles and Metformin with my first to conceive. I second the PP's advice to keep temping, and not to take anything supplement wise till you talk to the RE. Good luck and try to stay positive!

  • Thanks, ladies! I'll keep trying.
  • I'm currently on cycle 9.  Its frustrating but you have to remember that a year if perfectly normal and is not a concern until that mark is passed.  And even then, sometimes it just takes others longer.  My friend and her husband had been ttc for over a year and finally got pregnant...with twins.

  • I'm on Cycle 10. I have PCOS and have an RE appointment in October. We are trying for our first and have two good friends who are pregnant. It can be frustrating, but try not to get too down on yourself!
  • It's average for conception to take a year minimum.
