Infertility

Acupunture is a miracle

hi everyone! Me and my hubby have tried to conceive for three years! I tried clomid but couldnt afford anything else! I gave up. Then i heard stories about acupuncture. I didnt believe it even tho I heard ppl swearing by it for all other reasons not just infertility. After a year i decided to gather some money and try it as a last resort. It worked the first month!!! I am 9 weeks along and i know it wasnt just a coincident. It really works and so many of my friends succeeded! I have not heard ONE person that said it did not work. If they tried it, it worked! I have tried it with any other intervention such as IUI or IVF! Just acupuncture. I really hope this can help some of u! Baby dust to all!

Re: Acupunture is a miracle

  • How often do you have to get the acupunture done and for how long? Does it hurt?! Any info would be great :)

  • No pain at all! Normally u go once a week. I started in my Day 1 cycle and used ovulation tests at home to make sure I dont miss O since my cycle is all over the place! Once I got closer to O he said to come in twice a week for two weeks. He puts tiny needles in your hands abdomen and knees and feet. After O u get them on top of your head and feet only. U lay there for half an hour and it is wonderful and relaxing! U do not need to believe in it cause it is hitting your nerves and sending messages around your body! It is not spiritual thing cause I don't believe in that stuff. It basically substitutes drugs since it makes your body produce what drugs deliver! Give it a shot and hang in there!!!!

Was it expensive? I've been wanting to try it, but I keep convincing myself not to do it in order to save more money in case any treatments past Clomid are needed. I am currently in the 2ww on my last round of Clomid. My RE is recommending injectables if this round isn't successful, so fingers crossed!

I had an IUI insemination early June and it was unsuccessful.
I have my first acupuncture session this week as I'm starting the whole process for IUI at the moment.
Thank you for sharing such a positive story about acupuncture. It gives me a lot of hope for this time round =)
  • I have had acupuncture in the past for migraines and it worked well (but this was in a different country from where I live now). I'm thinking of going now to a local anedthisologist maybe once a week until my embryo transfer. It shouldn't hurt anything... But my wallet. I think he does not take insurance and its 30$ a session which really is not that bad and I'll probably only need 3 or 4 sessions. Compared to the other costs its alright I guess.
  • I hope it works for all of you! I tried it for my most recent cycle. I did not do it with my first two cycles and heard good things. I found it to be immensely relaxing, but alas I am about to get a BFN tomorrow. All my POAS have been negative. Super bummed. We pulled out all the stops this time! Acupuncture, assisted hatching, luteal HCG. Ugh.
  • Did you go to someone who specialized in infertility?
    TTC #1 since August 2013
    Unexplained/ Endo
    Medicated IUIs # 1-3 BFN
    IVF #1- BFN
FET #1- BFP; Ectopic pregnancy found at 7wks
    FET #2- February 2017 BFP  Beta #1- 119 (8dp5dt) Beta #2- 475 (12dp5dt)
  • Yes I did.
  • The guy I will go to is an anesthesiologist. He is Korean and does this on the side. He does not specialize in infertility and my husband thinks it's dumb and a waste of money....I think it's worth a try. But who knows...
  • I read somewhere that acupuncture helps with fertility so I did research and found one by my house. This is my first IVF. This lady has done fertility acupuncture for 10 years and she actually sees a lot of patients from the fertility clinic I go to. Anyway, my retrieval is in 2 days and she will come to the clinic and do acupuncture before and after on my transfer day. It's pretty expensive but I figured to spend the money so I can up my chances and hopefully it will be my first and last time for IVF.
TTC for Baby #1 for 3 years. After 2 failed IUI's & IVFs, God blessed us with our miracle :).  FET 12/17/15 (transferred 2 embryos at 5days). First Beta 12/29/15 = 354. Second Beta 12/31/15 = 694. Third Beta 1/7/16 = 6,695.  Finally heard his heartbeat (126)  on 1/14/16 @ our 1st US.  2nd US on 1/21/16, HR was 159.  The most beautiful sound ever :)
  • I live in NY so it was expensive. $250 for initial 90 min evaluation where he worked out my cycle days and told me what to eat and what not to eat. My hubby came too and also he had restrictions. He also did acupuncture then. Every next app was $120! It was terribly expensive but so worth it. I am 10 weeks now. It was a real chibese guy who was trained in china as well as here! He was amazing! He did specialized in infertility tho! Good luck ladies and dont give up!!!!
