Gel Manicures

This may be a strange question... But has anyone heard if gel manicures are unsafe during pregnancy?!

    I was researching that today! I couldn't find anything that said they aren't safe. I'm concerned about acetone to remove them. I've read conflicting information about that. I soaked in acetone at a salon today to remove acrylics. I'm thinking it probably didn't do any harm but I'm going to avoid it in the future. I have read that OPI Polish is safe.

    I got gel manicures my entire preg w DS (2.5yo) and DD(1yo).

    I have read that it is ok in moderation while pregnant.  The real concern is with the removal process/acetone.  The article I read said to make sure you don't soak your hands in the acetone, but rather have them apply it directly to your nails with cotton balls and cover in foil.  This is what the salon I go to does anyway.
