Way early, but anyone'a mind on breech vs head down yet?

Tmy mind won't let it go likely bc of how much I want a vaginal birth as opposed to c section. I am ONLY 27 weeks and we'll aware how early that is but...all I have ever felt is movement low down. It's never too strong just squirmy and the occasional strong movement a few times a day.

Ladies what did you feel that let you know how your baby was positioned? I sure wish I knew! I guess I will wait until my 29 weeks appointment to ask! Never to early to start inversions I guess either...

Maybe this thread will help. It's just a few topics below yours, at the moment.

  • Oooooo thanks
  • My baby has been head down since 24 weeks. I feel most of my movements down low. I can also feel baby's bum around my belly button.
  • A breech baby terrifies me because of my history of very fast labors. They usually will schedule a csection for 39 weeks, but I have yet to make it that far with either of mine. There isn't really much you can do to tell for sure this early on. As baby starts to run out of room it will be a little easier to tell what position they are in. My doctor also does a quick ultrasound at 36 weeks to make sure that the baby is in fact head down.

That being said, they really can turn at any time. I had a friend that was scheduled for a csection because baby was still breech at 39 weeks. She went in for an appointment to try and flip the baby the day before and found out the baby had flipped on its own.
  • I'm 29 weeks and baby is breech! Don't know if that helps you ;)
  • I worry about it because my cousin and I were both breech babies, and then her first son was as well. I've read before that there could be a slight genetic component to it, and it seems to be in my family, so I worry. I am terrified of a c-section, but I guess whatever I need to do to get my guy here safely is most important. :)

My second child was breech resulting in a c section. While it definitely was a different experience than a vaginal birth (my first child) it wasn't bad and actually is much safer than an emergency c section after hours of vaginal labor. You'll be ok! That being said, I'm 29 weeks and wondering if number 3 is head down bc I can't tell at all based on his movements.

All of mine have been breech until the end. With #3, I was due 7/28 and they did an ultrasound to check the Thursday before 4th of July weekend. She was breech and they scheduled an external version for the following week. I did accupuncture three times (actually excruciating moxibustion that I swear hurts as much as labor where they hold burning sticks right above your feet...realizing three years later how crazy that makes me sound) and basically laid on the couch with my legs up and my body hanging upside down all weekend. When they checked me into the hospital and did another u/s before starting the procedure, they realized she had flipped and was in the right spot. She stayed that way for 3 weeks. Since I have no idea what caused her to turn, if it happens again, I'll definitely be trying those same crazy tricks.
  • My 2nd daughter was breech until 36 weeks.  I started doing nightly inversions at 31 weeks and apparently it worked because she turned at 36 weeks 4 days.  Good thing because she was born at 37 weeks.

  • Mine flips almost daily I'm sure ! I'll feel kicks up in my ribs and down low. My first was head down from around 32 weeks on !
  • Our son is breech. He has been since week 18. We hope he will flip, but the doc didn't sound too promising!

We already know we will have a c-section due to the complete placenta previa. We found this out at our 18 week ultrasound, so I have had time to cope with the disappointment of a non vaginal birth. But, there are several upsides to having a c-section, too. It doesn't hurt to read up on it regardless!
