Baby won't sleep in crib!

My son is 9 weeks old. Since he was born, he would sleep in his crib and wake up every hour to two hours. But, if he slept with me, he'd only wake up every four hours. So, I started letting him sleep with me. Now, he won't sleep at all in his crib. As soon as I set him in it, he starts crying. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting him to sleep in his crib again?

Can you wait until they are asleep, then set them in their crib? I have also been using a microwave heating bag to set on my bassinet or crib mattress to hold it 'warm' until I'm done feeding my lo, then I move it and set baby on the spot (make sure it's not too warm though!) when I put them down. I have found that warmth helps keep her from waking up when I set her down.

Most babies don't like sleeping in a crib so this is pretty common. Cribs are big, empty and not exactly comfortable for a baby.

IME it just takes time for them to get used to it. Both of my kids were swaddled when I started putting them in the crib, and they stayed in the crib as I transitioned them out of the swaddle. It just took consistency and time.

I put Lo down while she's asleep. It took a couple days of trying, but now, even if she wakes up when I put her in her crib, 90% of the time she falls back asleep.

And also try to put baby's feet first and then the head so this will not make the feeling like falling (head first like falling backwards). Maybe it will work for you to

I had this same exact problem. We started using Merlin's magic sleep suit and it really is magic. It still takes a couple tries to get him down but he's been sleeping the whole night in his crib since night one using it. It's a bit pricey but worth it, IMO

How is it going? Ricfjb is baby sleeping in crib now? I have mine in a bassinet right next to me in our room. I was told babies can smell mom when she is close by and it is really soothing. I put baby there right when we got home from hospital. I think for you it's a matter of getting baby "used" to her crib. It might be tough if he cries, but you need to be string and not give in. Trust me, my brother had both kids sleeping in their bed until age 8!!!

Some kids just hate the crib-- have you tried an alternative sleeping place? My son hated the crib but tolerated the pack n' play.
