Newbie/low AMH

Hello all!!!

Let's see...where to start...

I'm 32 and my DH is 34. We have been TTC for 3 years. The past year we have spent under the care of a RE. Long story short, I was diagnosed with low AMH in December of 2014. I was made aware of my diagnosis after my first failed IUI. The first time my AMH was texted it was .31. Fast forward a few months later it's dropped to .16. So needless to say, I was devastated ALL the way around because my RE told me that I had less than a 2% of ever becoming pregnant with my own eggs.

Fast forward again and I'm talking to a new RE and taking DHEA, CoQ10, vitamin D3, and prenatal vitamins. AMH tested again and it's shot up to .63. I know .63 is still low, but it's an improvement. I'm uncertain as why it increased, but guessing it's either the supplements or the fact that I was told to stop exercising.....

Anyways, last week I completed my second IUI using injectables (HMG and HCG). I only produced 3 follies and only one matured, and did so rather quickly. I'm currently in my TWW and it's killing me. I'm trying to remain hopeful, but it's hard when your RE isn't exactly optimistic. Ugh.......ahhhh!!!

Anyone else have low AMH and their RE's are optimistic????

    I have my FX for you and really hope that your IUI works.

    I also have low AMH. I'm 33 and had it checked a few times. Both times it was about .50. We tried IUI two times and both times failed for us. The first time we used Clomid and the second time we used Menopur.

    We decided to move on to IVF and I am stimming for our 2nd IVF cycle now.

    My RE is awesome and is very optimistic that we will be successful.

    I know that I don't have the best story because I have not been pregnant yet, but I wanted to share with you☺

    Thank you so much for this. It helps knowing that someone else is going through this and actually understands how it feels.

    My first iui was with clomid and my second was with menopur.

    All RE's I've seen didn't even want to put me through IVF because they didn't believe it would be successful. All pushed me to donor eggs.

    Man, I hope you have your success story with this. It will be uplifting for a lot of us. Good luck and keep me posted.

    I have low AMH 0.47. My RE was very optimistic about me using my own eggs. I have gone through four rounds ivf and banked 7 embryos! It is definitely possible to use your own eggs! FX for you!!!

    @welovehawaii thank you for your response.

    My DH and I will definitely be seeking other opinions for sure. We are by no means giving up. I'm so happy to hear your story and knowing that your RE is optimistic and being proactive. I'll be following your story. I can't wait to hear how your IVF goes.

    Hmm... is your antral follicle count always super low, like 3 or something? Otherwise I would think at your age (which is the same as my age) that you would do ivf. I had five failed iuis when I was 27 and then was going to do ivf when I got pregnant at 28. Now we saw re in January and my first cycle got canceled right away due to a cyst but we are hoping next cycle will be ok. I think my amh is .24. And my antral follicle count is low too, saw re today and said might only get 6 eggs, but that could be enough. We will definitely do a couple of rounds of ivf before looking into donor embryo or eggs.

    @jlpres12 thank you and I will definitely keep you posted. I know exactly how you feel and really hope that we can both have success stories. I almost feel hopeless sometimes. I have thought about donor eggs and I have a sister who is willing to donate to me, but that is such a hard choice to make.

    I'll keep you posted on this IVF cycle that I'm doing now and please let me know how your IUI turns out.

    @kyethra your story gives me hope!!! And yes, I've never produced more than 3 follies. First time with climid, 3 follies with 2 being mature. This past cycle with HMG injectables I had another 3 follies, but only one matured egg.

    @wapeters13 I wish that I had good news, but AF visited me yesterday. I seriously hate her :((( it's been very depressing, but I just have the crazy feeling it's going to happen for me at some point. My faith is pretty strong, so that's what is helping me keep my head up. Thank you for responding to me and for contributing your interest in my story!!!!

    @jlpres12 I am so sorry! Infertility treatments are so exhausting mentally and physically. Please don't give up hope and know that you will get your BFP soon. I always tell myself that everything is happening for a reason and that I will get my BFP soon. Keep the faith and definitely stay in touch. Again, I am so sorry.
