How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby? Almost 30 weeks!! A large HEAVY cabbage! 10/1/2015

    2. Age at delivery? 43

    3. Any other children or fur babies? DS, 2 and 3 kitties

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc? Um things are definitely getting more difficult and uncomfortable, legs hurt, I'm exhausted, can't concentrate at work, have a million things to do before DD comes AHHHHHHh feeling overwhelmed..

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves? Regular Appt this week, had ultrasound last week, DD was weighing in at a nice 2lb 12 oz, 55%  all measurements are pretty much right where DS hung out as well so I guess I"m having the same size baby!

QOTW:  What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising? oh goodness, my mother cracks me up, besides having totally outdated ideas of how to care for a baby, ie putting blankets in the crib ect.. she seems to think everything I do is babying DS, even when he was a little baby! I guess her generation was a bit different, but on the other hand she thinks there's nothing wrong with giving a 6 month old tablespoons of sugar..I pretty much ignore most things she tells me, don't tell her that though...

  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?

    I am 4w6d - 5 weeks tomorrow!
My EDD is March 23, 2016
Baby is the size of a poppyseed!

    2. Age at delivery?

    37

    3. Any other children or fur babies?

    I have 4 sons - Aidan (16), Alex (stillborn 3/26/06), Ryan (8), and Cole (5).

2 pups - Franklin and Leo (boys also! Ha!)

    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?

    Feeling great, just very tired.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?

First OB appt is Aug. 4. Very anxious about that to see a heartbeat. Also concerned about what it means to be AMA and what that brings to the pregnancy table this time around. I was 31 at my last delivery.

QOTW: What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising?

So far nothing. Only a few people know and they have all been oberwhelmingly excited for us! Of course it seems everyone is hoping for a girl. I'm hoping for a healthy pregnancy and baby!
  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?

6 weeks, 1 day. EDD is March 14th.

    2. Age at delivery?

    39. Yikes!

    3. Any other children or fur babies?

No children, but I have 2 adorable dogs- a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever/Poodle mix.

    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?

Boobs are sooo sore!! I'm a (slow) jogger and it's hard to resist holding my boobs while I jog. HA! That's about it though, no MS. Just a few mild cramps every now and then.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?

My first official appointment is August 4th, but I'm more nervous for my next HCG test Thursday evening. At 5 weeks I had light spotting after intercourse (sorry TMI) but it only lasted couple hours. I panicked of course. Doctor couldn't find anything on ultrasound, turns out HCG was only 274 :( 72 hours later it was 598. Doc says doubling every 48-72 is what he wanted to see so that's good but my numbers are really low and he's concerned it might be ectopic, but said those are usually accompanied by bleeding and pain (which I don't have). Soooo he's monitoring my HCG to make sure I'm on track. I'm super nervous because I had previous miscarriage at 6 1/2 weeks. I really hope my numbers have a big increase this week!!! Long rant, sorry!

QOTW: What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising?

Nothing yet, but I've only told 2 people.
  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?  13 weeks, 3 days / 24th Jan 2016 / peach

    2. Age at delivery?  43

    3. Any other children or fur babies?  3 fur babies

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Increased MS - throwing up didn't start until week 11 - appetite is coming back in a big way ( I want to eat 24/7) - finally getting relief from constipation with Fybogel
    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves? just had dating scan/NT scan on Monday; everything went great :)  next appt. is 11th August for results of combined screening and bloodwork, then anatomy scan on 14th Sept.

QOTW:  What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising?
Lucky so far; no unsolicited advice

  • ThisIsQuackers I had spotting at 6 weeks, 8 weeks, and 19 weeks.  The 19 weeks was directly right after sex.  And sex can cause spotting.  Nothing wrong with calling the Dr.  At 6 weeks they gave me the choice to come in for a u/s and I choose too.  they cautioned I was in the "grey" area to tell viability.  Luckily they were able to find a heartbeat, it was was low at 105 but I think it just started beating.  Now he is healthy and strong. :) Are they brining you back in for a repeat u/s?  FX for strong numbers.

  • Thank you, that makes me feel better!!! I think the doctor will do a repeat U/S once HCG is closer to 5000. He said that would be best chance at seeing something. Since he's concerned about ectopic I'm pretty sure he'll want to check things out. Otherwise I'm scheduled for a U/S at my first regular appointment on August 4th. Fingers crossed!!
  • 1.

    2.
    39

    3.
    2 kiddos
    DS is 5
    DD is 2

    4. Less nauseated but still feel bad part of every day. Tired all.the.time ugh.
Diclegis and an assortment of sour, tangy or salty foods have helped the feeling sick. As far as energy I have yet to crack that one! But we did just get into our new house after a cross country road trip and everyday is an unpacking and organizing nightmare ... So that could explain it lol ...

    5. Sitting in the waiting room now feeling very anxious. Because of our move I haven't seen an OB for over 8 weeks. I seriously started thinking maybe I'm not really pregnant! Can not wait to hear that heartbeat!!!

    QOTW:
Hmmm ... I know there has been some but I can't think right now ... Oh well this is sorta off topic but I've got a good one (bad really). I was shopping for a maternity swimsuit yesterday and these three young girls (12 or 13) began talking about how cute one suit was. One says to the other 'who cares if it's maternity ... Look that lady is shopping here and she's not pregnant!' Referring to me of course. Now I may only be 18 weeks but I'd say I look like 30. I started with extra padding plus this being my 3rd and the way I carry my weight my stomach is very round and already past my boobs ... So great I just look even fatter than I actually am!! Haha ... Out of the mouth of children!
  • Hi!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?

    9w4d - EDD 23 Feb 2016 - Olive

    2. Age at delivery?
    40

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
Fur baby :) AnnieCat - who is getting me ready for motherhood by waking me up every night just to hang out...

    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Have had all day nausea for about a month now. Eating plain food - little and often. The HUNGER has started as well. Belly feels like a bottomless pit and I eat something every 45 minutes or more. Then feel sick...
Have had quite a bit of 'period pain' as well and ligament stretching. Always gets me a bit worried but at least things are happening.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Seeing a midwife for the first time next week which will be interesting.
Work hard every day to THINK POSITIVE and RELAX - have had 2 early MC in the last 2 years
  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby? 31 weeks. Due Sept 24th size of a coconut

    2. Age at delivery? 37

    3. Any other children or fur babies? 2 girls (3 and 5 yrs) and 2 dogs

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc? Feeling good, have been following a strict diabetes diet to try and keep my blood sugars in check before I tip over the line officially into gestational diabetes, so being well-nourished and exercising I am feeling great. Also have developed what I think is an umbilical hernia, which I'm going to check with my mw. It only really hurts when my 3 yr old puts her elbow on it.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves? Just had my second GTT this morning, so will be interesting to see the results of that. Am hoping all my hard work with eating well has paid off.

QOTW:  What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising? I haven't really been getting any. I remember with my first I got all the, "don't spoil the baby" advice, and my MIL told me to put whiskey on her pacifier, um....no! Just no! But this time around people just keep telling me how busy I'll be with 3, which is good because it hadn't occurred to me before :)

  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?

    15 weeks today! Jan 14th.
    Orange

    2. Age at delivery? 42

    3. Any other children or fur babies? 1 sweet dog

    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?

Symptoms are very random and sporadic at this point. I had 10 solid weeks of nausea, am still taking Diclectin, but nausea is not constant anymore. Diclectin sort of worked but not really.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?

I just had my first appt with my OB, which went well. NT scan went great and looking forward to anatomy scan in 3 weeks.

QOTW: What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising?

I had one person tell me to just book an elective c-section. Also a male doctor at a walk in clinic told me I shouldn't have waited so long to get pregnant, and asked if I was some kind of high paid career woman!!!!
  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?

    Nov. 10
    Cantaloupe

    2. Age at delivery?
    38

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
    17-yo dd
    2 pups, 1 cat

    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Good, no nausea or low energy like in my first tri, but I'm getting to that uncomfortable point where it's harder to sleep, bend over to pick things up, or tie my shoes!

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Next US is scheduled for 28 weeks, as is my glucose tolerance screening.
I'm currently on vacation visiting family in San Diego for 3 weeks, so my OB had moved up my last appointment to see me one more time before I left. No more trips/flights for me after this last one. :( until the baby's born, that is.

QOTW: What are some of the unsolicited advice you have received regarding pregnancy or child raising?

My husband's (childless) aunt spent a full hour trying to convince me that I should stop running/working or else I'd hurt the baby. Oh, and that pregnant women shouldn't wear lipstick....????
  • @sdnyc99 you made me laugh with your aunts comments! And enjoy SD! We JUST moved away about a month ago and really miss it! Lived there a combined total of 9 years or so. Can I assume by your screen name that you're in NYC? Second favorite place, my older sis has lived there for over 10 years :)

@krisdee123 I can not believe that comment you received and from a Dr no less! Not sure if I could've held my tongue! Well you just take what my Dr said to me today ... I called myself 'old' and he laughed and said 'I can't even remember being your age ... You won't be old for a long time!'

  • I know! I practically had to scrape my jaw off the floor, so no I didn't give a response back. I grabbed the prescription paper he had in his hand and walked out the door. A few days later I did call and report it. The surprising thing is he was a young guy, maybe 38 years old.
  • @krisdee123 so glad you called back! Hopefully he feels like a total idiot!

So glad you reported it. That is just so incredibly offensive on multiple levels.
