Penicillin

Any moms used penicillin while pregnant before or heard of another mom using it?

    I got prescribed penicillin for a tooth infection from my wisdom teeth coming in at the worst possible time. I had to get a letter from my OB saying what the dentist could do/give me and penicillin was on the approved list. It's a very common antibiotic just make sure it's something you really need to take not because the doctor wanted to 'just in case'.

    I had penicillin while I was in labor because my water was broken for over 24 hours (close to 36) before I delivered.

    Yes I need it for the exact same reason you do but it's getting so bad.

    @nysahH I was 14 weeks when they prescribed and 15 by the time I finished the pills. They really helped the pain in my jaw. The ones I had tasted and smelled absolutely horrible though so I always had to take it with a strong drink. I hope you feel better soon!

    Yes thank you I feel so much better I'm 14+2 so I'm gonna go head and take them

    If ever you have questions I'd advise ringing or popping into our your local pharmacy. We have loads of extra information and can advise on the risks and benefits in your individual case. Penicillins are fine and are very commonly used in all stages of pregnancy. Hope you feel better x
