Cramps while walking?

Hi ladies, so I went to the mall earlier and was walking around and had some light cramping pain. I'm 26 weeks on Monday and have not felt this before. It's gone now but I'm just curious if it was baby girl sitting in a weird position or what would have caused this? Kind of freaked me out.

They're probably Braxton hicks. It's common. My stomach gets hard when I walk.
If they don't go away after sitting down and drinking water then it's time to call your doctor. But otherwise it's borane the further along you get.

  • Hi I also found that this week I started to get weird cramping if I was walking too "fast"-really not that fast! Or too long. I just slow down the pace a bit or take it easy and it stops. It's nothing excruciatingly painful, to me I think it's just Bc she is sitting pretty low so prob gets in the way with walking. I still do spinning, circuits, barre and Pilates and only feel that with walking longer distances/fast.
  • Yes that is how I felt! Almost like I was walking too fast, which I wasn't haha. They are gone now but certainly freaked me out. Oh the joys of pregancy haha

  • I've had this too. I've written off to gas or Braxton hicks because it stops when I rest. It feels like tightness. I'm 22 weeks.
  • I agree with pps it's probably Braxton hicks. Make sure you're hydrated, and if it happens a lot just relax a bit:)
  • I do a lot of walking at work as a nurse, and I've noticed if I'm walking w lot without a break, the same thing will happen to me. I agree with everyone else that it's probably BH. My belly gets hard and it's very uncomfortable. When I rest it goes away immediately. I've also noticed that staying even more hydrated helps a lot. I try to get in 3L of water during my 12hr shifts.
  • Yep, same thing happens to me when walking fast. It happened with DD as well.

  • I find I need to walk slower than my 20 month old somedays or get bh pretty bad! I feel like a snail! I always carry a water bottle with me wherever I am to make sure I stay hydrated! Just lots of water and rest when needed or walk slower! Hopefully that will help!
