Hands free pumping bra

does anyone use one? I would like to buy one but not sure how well it would work.

Re: Hands free pumping bra

  • I have heard it works just as well to cut wholes into a sports bra

  • I have heard that Simple wishes hands free pumping bra is best because it's velcro in back and a zipper in the front. That means you can make it tighter till your milk comes in. The Medela bra only has a zipper in the front which doesn't allow for a change in breast size. Amazon sells them for about $40. My local Motherhood had them too if you don't want to wait for shipping.
  • Yes!!! Amazing & makes life so much easier! I used the medela one first time around, no problem with sizing. Bought another with this kiddo (same size---but now I have two).

Also I exclusively pump so I use it ALL the time and LOVE It. Zipper in front is handy for pumping at work too versus a sports bra going over your head.

  • Simple wishes are amazing! Worth the money if you are pumping at work especially. They also had a tie one but the velcro worked best. I exclusively pumped with my first son for 8 months abd bought 3 of them over time. I am large chested and they actually fit. The Medela ones in stores only went up to xl and those were not fitting. :)

  • I got the Lansinoh one and it is amazing!! I tried the cut holes in a sports bra trick, but it was a hassle to completely undress and squeeze in to a small sports bra. It was tough.

The nursing bra zips in the front so no squeezing. Lol. Plus it fits right over my nursing bras and some of my tank tops. It's definitely worth it
  • I have Lansinoh pumping bra and not to sound melodramatic but I would die without it.... Seriously, it's awesome!!!
  • I just took an old bra and cut holes in it! It makes my life so much easier!!

Lifesaver especially if you pump daily, and really necessary if you're pumping at work. I think the actual pumping bras with a zipper or hooks are way easier because you just have to pull your normal shirt up and put the pumping bra around your tank top or nursing bra (or just pull your normal bra up which is what I did toward the end when I didn't feel like wearing nursing bras to work anymore). I know many who did holes in a sports bra but like a previous poster said that gets very old having to take your shirt completely off to get it on.

@babydoll1008 how much was it & where did you get it?
  • I'm not that busty but I just used sports bras. I didn't even cut holes in them I just pulled down or up my shirt and hooked the pumps into the sports bra and adjusted the fit and then pumped that way. The top of the sports bra kept the pump in place and I was able to work while I was pumping or fold laundry at home or take care of my daughter at the same time. In my opinion it's not necessary to spent extra money on a special bra. Use what you have and make it work.
  • I got mine at Target. $20? Maybe a little bit more but boy it's worth every penny!!

I got the Medela one for about $35. We had some complications with the baby so I have to pump to measure exactly how much he's getting. It has been a lifesaver. It fits right over a nursing bra too so I don't have to take anything on or off. I tried the sports bra thing and just got frustrated.
