Ear infection

is anyone else getting ear infections? This is the first one I've had in my life and it's awful. They have me taking amoxicillin but can't prescribe ear drops without my OB's consent. I just want the pain to go away and to be able to hear again.

    I got a sinus infection that started Sunday, and I'm now sure I have an ear infection on the right side. Have an ob appointment today, so I'm going to see about meds. I feel your pain! :(

    My ob never called me back to let me know if the ear drops are safe so now I've had an ear infection for a week and a half

    I'm now on amoxixillin, too, but no ear drops. I'm hoping the ears will clear with the sinus infection. Maybe call your ob yourself?

    Have you been on the antibiotics for a week and a half? If so, and you're still in pain then something else is wrong. A day or two on the antibiotics and some Tylenol and you should be feeling 100x better if its just an ear infection.

    Heating pad for the ear. Major relief. 15-20 minutes, or less if you're feeling hot. Chances are it's viral and you're going to have to ride it out, but hopefully it's not and the amoxicillin kicks it. I just perforated my eardrum for the umpteenth time and it hurts like a bitch. Usually a heating pad and avoiding cold drafts helps until it heals.
