Can't live without which products?? :)

Any baby gear that you guys couldn't live without?? I just got a mamaroo and I'm so excited about it :) grandparents still want to get me something, but I feel like I've got most of the essentials and just want something I wouldn't normally buy myself. So if u have ideas throw them out there!! Thanks!!

  • Well if it were me I'd ask for a Shakeology subscription to help lose baby weight haha! Buuuut it's not me ;) I love organic bamboo burp cloths (check etsy) but the price is just ridiculous to me so I'm having a hard time ordering more.

Man! You have me craving a chocolate and peanut butter shakeology now. :(

  • I told my husband (this is my second, his first, even though he has been apart of my daughters life since she was a year and 3 months) that this baby wasn't coming oit until I have a boppy, breast pump, nipple shield and a really good play pen. They were a godsend last time and to be honest worth every penny. My breast pump came in last week (thank you Affordable Care Act), picked up a few nipple shields already, my boppy was purchased off my registry and we are going tonight to purchase a play pen.

  • Baby swing, Boppy, a glider or rocker, pack n play
  • My ergo carrier! I would have been committed to the looney bin if I hadn't discovered baby wearing with my first.. She screamed for hours on hours on hours.. Until she could start moving on her own at about 3 months. The only thing that stopped the screaming was a walk in the carrier outside.. I'm terrified to have another baby like that.. But at least I know what I'm doing this go round
  • Curious... But what else would you get to prepare?
I've got two weeks so I'm in a nesting frenzy. We have the crib, clothes, 2 packs of newborn diapers, 1 case of size 1s, baby wash, ointment, blankets, bottles, breast pump, diaper bags, case of wipes, stroller/car seat combo, swing, & bouncy seat. Is there anything else I absolutely need to get within the next 2 weeks? I was thinking of getting nipple cream and breast pads.
  • @sjra1028
Yes nipple cream, breast pads. Sanitary pads for yourself. Snacks for BF
  • Definitely get breast pads. I didn't think about needing them with my first since I wasn't BF, then my milk came in and I was leaking like crazy. I figured ok, I'll just fold up a couple paper towels and stick em in my bra until I go to to the store...DO NOT do that, I repeat DO NOT do that, it dried and felt like ripping a band aid off my nipples lol
  • @mjones0721 omg! I didn't even consider that happening! I'm already having issues with cracking and pain. Ouch!
    Thank you, @mjones0721 & @prairiedreams!
  • Definitely a bouncy chair for the baby. And lavender lotion -- smells lovely and helps calm baby.

Do you have a baby wrap or carrier? Like an ergo ? I recommend a solly wrap for newborns in the summer. Lighter in weight and more breathable than a moby.
  • @lifeisapeach we do!! I have a sling wrap that I can't wait to use!!
  • Aden & Anais muslin cotton swaddle blankets. We had 8 and that was the perfect number. Used them constantly for swaddling and sleeping later too. DD still sleeps with one so we bought a third pack of four for baby 2. They are only $20/pack at Home Goods! Never bothered with sleep sacks since our first was also a summer baby.

  • 4th time mom & I can't live without butt paste. Lol its the best rash cream & I've used it with all of my kids.

Does anyone recommend a certain type of baby sling? I'm debating a peanut shell and a hotsling.
  • Aquaphor is great to have on hand for serious rashes, but you can't use it on cloth diapers.

Couldn't have done without our video monitor or glider.

Set up nursing/changing stations in the rooms you will be in frequently. Mine have diapers, wipes, burp cloths, receiving blanket, snacks, extra onesie, and coconut oil for her butt and my nips.
  • Rock n Play, Luna Lullaby nursing pillow (prefer it to the Boppy for feeding, though the Boppy is great for supporting baby in various positions) and swaddle sacks.
  • Gripe water or gas drops, I have had many nights with all 3 of my boys that I would not have survived without having some gas relief for them.

Do you use the rock and play for sleeping? I just received mine and I'm not sure if it's OK for her to sleep in it at night or what.

A lot of people do but I didn't feel comfortable with it especially when my 70lb dog bumped it- it seemed to easy to tip over.
