Anxiety and restlessness

im 36w With Baby #2. Just in the last couple days I'm feeling tons of anxiety and really restless. Having trouble focusing on things like watching an entire 30 minute tv show. I didn't experience any of this with DS 1. Anyone else have these issues or suggestions for how to calm myself?

Re: Anxiety and restlessness

  • When i had these symptoms while not pregnant, I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. The supplement has helped immensely.

I have been diagnosed with vitamin a deficiency and am currently taking the supplement. I wonder if maybe I need to increase. Will definitely ask my dr next week. Thanks!

Sometimes it just takes awhile for it to build up in your system. I agree with talking to your Dr. When I had a vitamin D deficiency they said my numbers were so low that it would take at least a month for the numbers to get up high enough to start feeling better (and I was on prescription strength 50,000 IU's). Taking too much of some vitamins at once though can be very dangerous.

Glad to hear it's not just me. @Miz_Liz I have an autoimmune disease that effects my thyroid so I never self medicate or increase dosage without dr advice first. I guess there is a positive to the weekly visits now.
  • I don't know that I would call it anxiety for me so much as it is distracted or unfocused. I think my mind is in a million places at once. I completely ran a red light today and must have had my guardian angel watching over me and baby because i definitely should have been T- boned by a big rig but he was able to slow down enough for me to get by! Only two more days til induction, I need to pay attention and be careful!

  • Before I was pregnant I suffered from some pretty bad anxiety which I was then prescribed medication for. Once I found out I was pregnant I instantly quit taking it. But my doc never once suggested my vitamin levels could be to blame. Makes me wonder.

But depending on what your doc says, good quality exercise on the daily might help. When I'm physically tired it helps me relax and get quality rest.

Thank god this pregnancy has actually helped calm me. My anxiety has almost disappeared...I always say I thank baby Q for that.
