FFFC

lets hear them...

I lied to my MIL and told her we are away for the weekend, because I just can not handle her. I'm usually good at tolerating her and ignoring her when appropriate. But our last convo went like this...
"How are you feeling now?"
"Yes good now I have this heartburn medicine, much less sick."
"It's funny that you've been SO sick but you're still managing to put weight on."

Then an hour later

"I assume you're going to breastfeed again?"
"Yes, I'm planning to but we will see. You never know how these things will go."
"Ah but you're so good at breastfeeding. You're like a cow!"

You can fuck off with your digs, lady. I love you for making your son... But ya kinda peaked at that triumph. Shut up.

I've been at work for 4 hours and have done maybe one hour's worth of work... Just not feeling it today. Sorry, not sorry.

Ugh, so glad I'm not alone. I sent out a few emails and ordered stuff. Other than that I suck so hard today. :(
  • I told my husband I didn't want to have sex the other night because my stomach was crampy... Pretty sure it was just gas... :)

Went to clean to get the hamster cage and realized i didn't have anymore bedding.. He should be ok until tomorrow right? I really don't feel like going to the pet store or any store for hamster bedding today.. And I have a pile of laundry that I should probably do.. But a nap sounds like a better idea before I do that..

    Edit because words are hard..

    Same here!
Also, not a confession, but I want to vent and don't need my own thread. The woman who sits next to me insists on calling me Meghan, even though my name is just Meg. She also calls the receptionist Julie, even though her name is Julia. Somewhat minor offenses, but still annoying. This afternoon, she just told the temp receptionist that one of the guys here is named Sanjay. His name is Nishant. Seriously? These two have worked on the same floor for over 2 years and there are only about 15 of us on the entire floor. I really can't stand crap like that and I feel like it comes across as rude and lazy.
  • I let our kid jump on our furniture for several reasons. 1. I find it adorable when he leaps from the couch to the chair. 2. It gets out energy 3. He enjoys it
When we go to other people's homes I remind him that they have sitting couches and not jumping couches.
My mother thinks we are slacker parents for allowing this in our house. Sorry mama don't care about your opinion on this one.

So DH is deploying in December (fun right?) and starts pre-deployment training in 2 weeks. He has been gone all week at a training and I have this weekend and next weekend to get all the shit (his stuff) cleaned out of the rooms so that I can put together some type of nursery for our little guy... DH just calls me to tell me he caught an early flight home(yay) because his back is spasming (not yay) so basically my weekend will consist of him laying down and me cleaning and organizing...

Which is what I have been doing for the last few months. And he comes home with more army shit to fill in the spaces. I'm actually super duper pissed. Super duper pissed. Which is dumb he can't change his back or the deployment, so now I'm mad at myself for being mad. Totally can't win today.

I'm with you there. Hubby might be getting deployed anytime December-may. His army shit is in all 3 of our bedrooms and it drives me nuts! He doesn't keep it organized so one day I finally just took it all and put it in one of his big duffel bags. Havin that stuff around the house is so annoying

Lemme piggy back on this and complain real quick. So, our nursery used to be my husband's army stuff storage room, which didn't bother me much, cause I mean, we had no real need for a spare room. Now, there is still a bunch in the closet in there, which I'm fine with. But he also has a big tough box in the room filled with army stuff that is almost definitely going to stay when it's completely baby room. Like, I understand that we don't really have anywhere else to conveniently put it. But I feel like it's just in the way and I hate it.

Ha! Our nursery was his army room too! (Still sorta is)

  • I hate to tell you guys, but that shit never goes away. DH switched from AD to reserves in Feb and even though they did take back a ton of issued stuff...I still have two giant duffles and two giant storage containers. AND he just got issued new stuff for his annual training in August. Waaaah.

All of his stuff got thrown in the crawl space of our townhouse because I hate it.

DH has gear all over the place too! He has taken the biggest closet we have and dedicated it to gear and his candle collection (quite the combination!), he has gear in the spare room, in his man cave, random places around the house... and well, I hope we don't ever need to actually go in our storm shelter because there wouldn't be any room for us in there. His gear is consuming that space too! His issued camelbak is forever hanging on one of the key hooks by the door... that man! Lol I'm hoping it gets better when he gets out, but I have a feeling all his stuff he actually owns will still be floating around the house for quite a while.

Jeez I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a gear problem... Who seriously gets an entire room for gear. I want a whole room closet and chest of drawers for all the random shit in my life. Also this gives him zero license to ever ever ever comment on how many pairs of shoes I have. He has 2x as many boots.

I swear my husband buys new boots every six months, he's only been in the reserves since Feb and he still bought a new pair for AT next month. And of course we can't get rid of any of the other boots.

Is he the only one that has 2,000 pairs of PT shoes?!

That's definitely one thing I can't complain about. He is pretty good about keeping his boots and shoes in his man cave closet or coat closet if they're too dirty to walk on carpeting. He will get new boots every so often but he's AD so he is in them all day every day and they get gross with how hot it is here. He only has his newer pair ans keeps his old pair as back up and tosses the old old pair. I feel like he is the complete opposite of your DH with PT shoes and wears his MUCH longer than he should to the point they no longer offer any support and he is wondering why his foot hurts. I wish he would replace them more often to avoid that issue lol same with his civ shoes. They just get ratty. That's his choice though!

Oh my gosh, yes. What is with the boots? Like I totally get keeping one old pair as a back up pair so he can try and keep the new ones nice for longer for when he knows he will make a mess of them. But no, there is no getting rid of any boots. And he needs a new pair constantly, of course. And he says I'm expensive, ha!

Nope.. My brother who is in the reserves has what seems like a million pairs... and when we turn around he's got a new pair!!!

THE SHOES!!! My DH has more shoes than me, I kid you not. He leaves them lying around just like the rest of his army gear. I have to sweep/vacuum our entryway daily because he doesn't know how to bang his boots off before coming in the door.

  • Ok I know it's not not Friday anymore but for the last 6 hours I have been working and it's days like today that I hate my job... I have counting down the hours till I go home since I got here... One more hour and I can leave.. Thank goodness
  • Way late Friday confession but I'm in the same situation with the not-wanting-to-work-ladies. To be fair, I'm new and they don't really have much for me to do (I have to extend the work they give me as long as I can or I'll just having nothing and will have to LOOK like I'm doing something...). Also, when I'm sitting at my desk, focusing on a task, my baby always starts moving like crazy. It's like she's offended that I'm working and not paying attention to her. Since she's my first, I try to feel her movements with my hand every time I feel her moving so, she effectively gets me distracted from working every time she moves in any way. She's spoiled already! :P

This makes me crazy... Take off your damn shoes... He likes to put his on the bed. While still on his feet. I love the man but seriously gross. Also there are approved boots and unapproved boots and pt shoes galore. Worst part is he can also wear unapproved uniform gear for some thing's and we now have a stash of fancy ass hiking boots. I know they're like $300+ each. I would actually take all the boots and uniforms to cancel the delpoyment this time around.
