Baby kicks/movement?

Has anyone felt their baby kick or have movement yet? And if you have, how far along were you? I'm currently 13w/5 days (1st pregnancy) and haven't felt anything, but just curious on when I might feel something. :)

When I was pregnant with my first, I thought I felt flutters around 13 weeks (was probably gas) but felt more actual movement closer to 20 weeks. It's super exciting and the first few times you'll question if it was an actual kick and hope for another one that won't happen for hours. :)

  • Pretty sure 2nd trimester has a sticky on this.

(Pssst: search function). Since this is your first pregnancy, most likely you don't feel a thing until you are around 20 weeks (if you have a heart doppler, you can maybe begin to hear baby move around, but you won't be able to feel it. I started getting movement on the doppler at 15 weeks). Second timers feel baby movements a lot sooner, at 14-16 weeks, and they also know what feelings to look for. Us firsties have to be a little bit patient. I am 17 weeks and I haven't felt anything besides gas. I know I'm expecting to feel baby really soon, so I'm always on my guard to feel it for the first time, but when I think I feel something, I'm reassured that it's.. gas. Be patient and check out the posts regarding this topic. (:

@BethP321 this is the story of my life.

@ChrissyD1203 Hahaha. I see all these posts from women who are not even 14 weeks like "OMG I just felt my baby!" Umm noo. You either have to fart or use the toilet. Being pregnant isn't all glamorous.
  • @BethP321 I know you're not a fan of lurking but I saw a post on F16 today that a STM was claiming she felt the baby at 10w. Uh huh. :^o
  • I felt my first little kicks at 16w 2d it was an amazing feeling. I'm a FTM
  • I just started feeling random movements this week. A tiny pop or twinge here and there. Can't wait for them to get stronger!

  • This is my first pregnancy and I've been feeling little pops/taps/prods since around 15 1/2 weeks. They started very light and I didn't know what they were at first, but now they're getting more frequent and more obvious, I can also feel them slightly from the outside if I put my hand on my tummy when I'm laying on my back.
  • My first pregnancy I felt them around 16 weeks. Dr said she wasn't surprised I felt early kicks because of the position of my placenta so
that can make a big difference. I'm 15w1d with baby number two and think I'm feeling some movement but nothing consistent yet.

This is absolutely not true. With my first I was 15wks and with this one I was feeling definite movement at 13wks. You do not know everyone's bodies. Yes, a lot of times it can be gas, but there are also women who are correct when saying they felt baby.

It's not just about your body, it's that the size of the baby's limbs and their weight is not even close to sufficient to produce enough force to be felt.
  • I felt my son shortly after 15 weeks. I make big babies and am pregnant with twins this time. I felt movement around 13 weeks this time, but both are several days ahead in size.

Who cares if its gas or not. Pregnancy feels different for everyone. If you want to think it's baby, fine. If you want to think it's gas, fine. One day you will want the kicking to stop so you can sleep :)

Tomorrow I will be 18wks. I have definitely felt some little movements here and there but I wouldn't say I've felt any kicks yet. :)

Eh, WebMD says it's possible at 13 weeks and so did my OB.  Actually, she asked me at 11 weeks if I'd felt anything.  I just kind of looked at her and she said, "I know, I know!  Before I had my kids, I always thought my patients who said that were crazy, but I definitely felt little taps that early the second time around."  I haven't felt anything yet (14w) but have heard movement on the Doppler.

  • I am so sick and tired of a few "experts" on here who are self righteous and so condescending! If someone says that they felt their baby then so be it. Every pregnancy is different and no ones body is exactly the same. I am 15 weeks and one day and haven't felt any kicks yet, but I can't wait until I do and I can only imagine how excited the moms who have felt kicks must have been the first time that they felt it :).
  • Everyone says 20 weeks, but this is my first pregnancy, and I first felt movement around 15 weeks. I thought I was crazy, but the doctor confirmed that what I was feeling was movement when he pointed out movement on the Doppler and it was the exact same feeling I had been having. It's different for everyone.
  • I felt my first born around 19 weeks! This is my 2nd & I will be 15 weeks tomorrow, but my husband & I felt the baby a couple days ago!! ☺️ I was laying flat on my back and he was rubbing lotion on my (already) stretch marks and I felt a little tickle around my belly button & thought it may have been just has, but my husband got so excited and said he saw my belly button moving up & down .. He put a little pressure on it and my belly button poked straight out (I have an innie still lol) .. It was really cool.. This baby is also measuring ahead of time just like my son did!!
  • With both one and two I started feeling movement around 20 weeks. I'm 14 weeks and a few days now and haven't felt a thing.
