anyone else have baby head down but facing sideways and body laying across belly? Just wondering if anyone else has baby like this doctor says it's fine for now just curious to others is all
Yes, I'm currently 38w2d and baby has been head down but keeps going from posterior to anterior to sideways. I'm hoping she'll just turn during labor - they often do.
Yes I've heard most turn last minute too! So hoping for the same just baby hasn't moved positions at all head down but facing my right hip and then across my belly all the kicking and punching to the right... My first was breech and turned last minute so I'm not worried just curious of other experiences with this
Mine was that way, but couldn't turn because the cord was wrapped around her body. Had a forceps delivery (because she also had decelerations). Not to freak you out, because it was completely FINE.
Yes baby boy has been like this since about 30-32 weeks I want to say, currently 37+4. My midwife says it's perfectly fine because sometimes they turn at the end. Sometimes he has his back against mine also, but she said it's not a problem.
Yes she's been head down for months and keeps switching between anterior and more right or more left. I can usually tell by which side of my ribs she's beating up lol. I'm not really worried about it but I've been doing the exercises from my bradley birth class.
From what I understand, when labor begins, the contractions will USUALLY force the baby to face forward or backward (through the birth canal). That's what they said in birthing class, anyway..
Yeah she was perfectly positioned until 37 weeks when she twisted and her heartbeat was found on the other side. 38 weeks her heartbeat was tothe right of my belly button again but it took the assistant forever to find it! We were laughing because the baby kept kicking at the probe on my tummt so we knew she was fine, just couldn't pinpoint where her heart was. Apparently her head is slightly behind my cervix too instead of straight up the channel. I am hoping that doesn't cause me to take longer to dilate. So far everything is progressing except only at 1 cm for the last 3 weeks. If I can start dilating they are open to scheduling an induction, so I am hoping the next two weeks show more progress. Baby is already 7-8 lbs and I am expecting over 9 lbs by 41 weeks again... I weigh 10lb more this time so I am concerned the baby might even be bigger than my first so I don't want to be over 41w again. I dunno how my skinny grandma birthed 5 boys at 11-13 lbs each. Oy.
I'm confused. We learned in our birthing class that the correct position for baby is head down facing the right and that they will make the final turn to face the back during labor. When you say facing sideways, is this what your referring to?
Yep. Hopefully she turns around...I was told it's really out of my control though. I think it just makes labor a little harder but not much to worry about.
It's head down but head facing right and the body is across the belly so if body was straight then that would be the correct position? But normally turns last minute for sure my last two all went into position last minute but I've never had one lay this way before
My son seems like he's at a 90° angle. His head is definitely in the right spot, his butt is in my sternum and his feet are off to my right side. Doc says they tend to straighten out more when labor begins
Mines like that 36 weeks. Been head down for awhile. Doctor isn't concerned, in fact they said last week she was already engaged at -1 station. So if there was an issue with her position, I assume they would have mentioned it, considering my pregnancy is high risk for cervical issue reasons
