8wks and still no sign of baby...

I've been going to the doctor's and er off and on since I found out I was pregnant and each time they do an ultrasound they say they can't find the baby. My hcg levels are rising, not quite doubling like it's supposed to but still rising. They say they don't see anything near my tubes or anything just they can't find where the baby is. Has this happened to anyone else?

PS.
I have had cramping and bleeding

  • No experience with this, but just wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts- I can't imagine how scary that must be! If your levels are rising, it doesn't quite make sense. Please keep us posted <3

  • I have no experience with this either but wanted to ask is there any chance that you O'd later than you thought? So maybe you're not as far along as you think? I know some people can turn a HPT positive before 4w. You maybe have thought through this all already, but just wanted to suggest it. I'll be thinking about you!!

  • Hope everything works out for you. You're in my thoughts.
  • I have had a similar experience in the past. Are they able to hear a heartbeat even if they can't see it?

I had something like this last year my levels rose until I was suppose to be 11 weeks I had all the pregnancy symptoms then I started to bleed a bit and cramp They eventually saw the gestational sac but it was empty I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum. I didn't end up miscarrying on my own so I got a D&C in Nov. I'm not sure if that is what you have I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that they find the baby.
  • Not sure but prayers lifted for you.
  • Thanks for the thoughts and prayers ladies here's an update so far. I had to get my progesterone level checked and it came back at a 5.5. My doctor told me that anything below a 5 would be considered an abnormal pregnancy, but with mine being only 5.5 it still gave him some concerns. So today I have to get my HCG level checked AGAIN to see if it's going up somewhat normal cause it's not doubling like it's suppose to but close. If it doesn't, we might have to end the pregnancy which will be heartbreaking. So fingers crossed and prayers going up that this pregnancy works out. This will be our first after 2 M/C.
  • Thank you

Thank you labacker and I'm praying to God it is. I've always had irregular periods and thought maybe that's what's going on.

There's nothing at all. They say everything looks good just no baby. But I'm hoping and praying that I just O'd late and am just SUPER early.

I haven't been diagnosed with that, but I do have PCOS which I read could cause bleeding and cramping in pregnancy. I'm just hoping a cyst didn't rupture or anything and that's what's making things so difficult. I have so many thoughts going through my head of what if could be because of my mother in law saying she bleed for 4 months with my husband and that's why she didn't know she was pregnant and my mom telling me that when she was pregnant with my sister her levels were low as well an they thought she was going to miscarry but she didn't. So I'm keeping hope.
  • I will keep you in my prayers. I can't even imagine how you feel right now. I know it's easier said than done but don't stress out and have faith. Stressing out can just make your body more stressed.

  • That must be so frustrating and scary, I'm sorry! My only thought would be to make them check your tubes again, it can't hurt to ask for a thorough follow through on that end as well! I hope you get good news soon!
