Question for those of you who have already had US

I have my first appointment tomorrow, I will be about 8 weeks. I am nervous but excited. I am trying not to get my hopes up because I am not sure whether I will have an ultrasound. I am just curious whether anyone has had a non transvaginal US yet? If so what were you able to see?

And it was a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure it was still trans-vag. I didn't get an abdominal ultrasound until 12 weeks.

I did abdominal at 5 + 4 weeks and you could see gestestional sac , yolk ring, and a little blip of a babe and a heart beat flicker . With our DD we saw a decent amount with abdominal at 8 weeks... Unless they told you specifically that they would be ordering an ultrasound they probably will do urine , blood and general work up and will schedule ultrasound at checkout or after they get a hcg read

I had a transabdominal with my first at 6 weeks and we could see his heart beating.

Thanks! It is a large medical complex so there is easy access to ultrasound (it doesn't need to be ordered in advance) The timing for this appointment was just weird for me. Why bring me in at 8 weeks just to bring me back in 2 more weeks to check viability with Doppler (why not just wait until 10 weeks). last time they saw me at 4 weeks and said it was just preliminary and then they checked for a heartbeat at 10 weeks. I am so anxious to see that little flutter.

With my first kiddo I had a non vaginal us at 8 1/2 weeks. This time at 6 weeks I had a vaginal one. Didn't see much this time around but I did see a heart beat which was comforting!

Abdominal (TODAY!) and all she could see was the sac, which was nerve wracking. However, she then did vaginal and we got to see the little one's itty bitty flickering heart.

Thanks everyone! The doctor did send me for an ultrasound today (transvaginal) and we got to see and "hear" the heartbeat. Music to my ears.

I conceived this month with a frozen embryo transfer and today I had a transvaginal scan. The doctor says I'm 6w2d. We saw a sack and yoke but no fetal pole. He said its common with 60% of women but I'm freaking out and assuming that the estrogen and progesterone is what's keeping me from MC. Anyone have advice? I'm not going back in for scan 2 for another nine days due to the doctors schedule.

I went in 2 weeks ago n was measuring 5weeks.. they only saw a sac n yolk sac.. no baby no heartbeat.. then at 6 weeks i went again n there was a fetal pole but still no clear heartbeat.. the doc told me this could be an abnormal pregnancy

But today we went in at 7 weeks n BAM there was a baby and a heartbeat of over 150.. keep the faith and pray.. God is Great

Congrats @cnieves1022 o am happy things are moving in a positive direction. @Margo97 congrats on the twins! My good friend has twin girls and while the first year was hard she wouldn't have it any other way!

I have my first u/s scheduled on 8/20/15. I can't wait. Did anyone who had bloodwork done before your u/s get a call with a HCG count before your u/s?

@Margo97 any chance you got pregnant right after Mirena removal? I got pregnant first month after removal, I have read a few articles where many women conceived twins immediately after Mirena removal. This is my third pregnancy, I'm at 5 wk + 1 (if I go from the light period I had before Mirena removal) not much MS but the bloat, rock hard boobs already, think I'm going to be BIG this time..... wondering if twins. Are you showing at all?

Hello everyone! I'm 36 this will be number 2. My first is almost 19. My EDD is march 13 wich puts me at 6 weeks 3 days! My hcg levels are on point the dr thinks twins but when I had my ultrasound today all we saw was the sac. I go back a week from today so I hope we can hear a heartbeat or heartbeats lol.. So nervous

I am 7w6d today and had my first u/s which was transvaginal. We could see a tiny head and the start of limb formation (a baby tadpole!). We could also see the heart beating on the screen. She verified that we have only one little blueberry (we did clomid+IUI so we were a little anxious that we may get two!). Overall, everything is doing what I should be. Did anyone have dr. Tell you that there was extra blood/clot between the uterus and abdominal wall? She saw this but said it was nothing to worry about...

So I had my first appointment yesterday (I'm 7 1/2 weeks) and was devastated when the nurse said the first US wouldn't be until my next appt (at 12 weeks) then my doctor walked in overly excited and said she wanted to see the baby. So she did an abdominal US...got to see the baby, yolk sac and the heartbeat

I had my first US today and my dr pointed out blood pooling near the sac- she said its nothing to worry about. She only pointed it out to me because I may bleed a bit as the placenta forms. She said not to freak out if that happens, but to call her to verify that's what's happening!

I haven't had one with this pregnancy yet. I still have a week and 1/2 to go but I had a lot with DS. I had one at my first appointment at 6 weeks and you could see the baby and hear the heart beat through a vaginal ultrasound and then another one at 7 weeks (I had to get an OB because my doctor was only a gyno). I was lucky and my doctor would let us take a peak almost every appointment.

Had my first US this morning and was transvaginal. Got to see heartbeat and verify that we are right on track. Baby measures 7w 6d and my last period puts me at 8w 1d. EDD still March 3rd. Very exciting and happy that I can tell friends now (already told family)!
